I like the Latin American Dub, but since its not in the poll my choose is:

Japanese (voted for it) >>>> Funimation >> Ocean Dub

Funimation got a lot of things wrong with original "dub". If incosistent and immature dialogue wasn't enough, they changed character origins, character names, music and the overall atmosphere. I feel like Funi and Ocean fans alike should watch English subs of Japanese as well, looking beyond the voices you don't prefer. You should get an idea of what the original Dragon Ball Z is. Japanese FTW!

I've always liked the Funi dub because it's what I grew up with, but I've recently begun to appreciate the Japanese version more since I started watching every other anime subbed. The Funi dub may have a lot of nostalgic value for me, but it got a lot of things wrong with DBZ, so I can't really say it's the best.

I plan on rewatching the show in Japanese and see which I like better overall.

A cheerful song doesn't fit that well for a crazy new transformation that is breaking the whole planet apart and forcing Kaio-sama to yell at Goku for him to stop it immediately.

Because he knew it would use up Goku's time not that it would destroy the planet

An uplifting theme is what the series needs at that point almost nothing is going well Vegeta just sacrificed himself Goku coming to save the day needs an epic theme not a tragic sounding one

I just don't think high pitched japanese voices fit big ridiculously muscly non asian looking men it just sounds childish to me they should have picked voice actors with deeper voices

I actually think it's kind of cool and unique to see a character like that, with big muscles and a high-pitched voice. It's kind of cute and different from the norm, which makes it sort of appealing in a way. I get sick of hearing the same old mid-ranged Japanese male voices for every single character. It's nice to hear a change, especially when it's such a unique one. ^_^

Many of the Japanese voices are deeper than the American ones.

King Cold, Dabura, Buu, Mr. Satan, Cell, Piccolo, Trunks, 17, 16, etc.
I could add that Frieza doesn't sound like a Granny and King Cold doesn't sound like a pedophile.

How much of the Japanese version have you watched?

Agreed. I must say that I like Trunks' Japanese voice way more than his English one. It just makes him sound... sexier. :w00t:

You forgot King Kai. His voice is drastically different. Not sure which I prefer, though.

Oh yeah and Garlic Jr.
Another reason why I prefer the Japanese soundtrack is because of the badass insert songs.

Thanks for using Trunks as an example! <3

Love his Japanese voice.

I honestly had a hard time listening to the English dub after watching the Japanese version. Frieza's voice is really grating to me. It makes me want to cringe. Seriously. The music was cool and all, but it wasn't as "authentic," if that's even the right word to use. Everything about the English dub in that scene just seemed a little over the top to me.

Horikawa Ryou-san is my favorite. He has the best voice of all of them. Brian Drummond can capture Vegeta's anger, Chris Sabat (only in Kai) captures his borderline arrogance, but Horikawa is absolutely the best. He captures the essence of Vegeta, there's a reason why Toriyama-san handpicked most of the Japanese cast

Funimation all the way. Ocean's voices are not really my type. Funimation is more happy while Ocean are some boring, serious voices.

Japanese sounds werid , like all characters screams like a girl lol.

Actually, only Goku, Goten, Gohan and Bardock have "girlish" voices. Most of the voices are actually tougher than Funimation and Ocean's. Especially Freeza, Cold, and Trunks.
