Does anyone care to share dieting experiences here, or any tips? I'm not really in desperate need of any, but, I'm always willing to share/be shared with and take suggestions. I've lost over 100 lbs in the past few years, so, I think this could potentially be a motivational topic. For me, I've started taking up cooking because I can more easily control my nutrition and make "tastier" more satisfying foods. I tend to take in more calories with a home cooked meal, but, that's because it's not a little 200 calorie frozen omelet wrapped in plastic. For instance, the omelet I made tonight was probably 400-600 calories (and I didn't even eat all of it). But, it was filling and satisfying as hell after a big workout. It was this: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/southwestern-omelet-10000001038784/. Except I added another egg white and added some ketchup and basil leaves to the salsa for a sweeter taste. Also, I stir fried the onions and added red peppers in olive oil. Anyone else do any healthy cooking and got any interesting recipes to share? I've gotten a few off of that site. I currently weigh approximately 150 pounds (68.2 kg/10.7 stone), last weighed in at 149.8 and the time before that 148. So, around that area. This is different from the "health and wellness" topic in deep discussion, because that one is more of just a profile of your current state, rather than an in-depth discussion. Edit: Yes, I am trying to lose more weight. 130 is the absolute lowest I'd ever go, but, that's the absolute lowest. More like 135-140 is what I'll end up at, which is very thin, but, I am cursed with flabby genetics and weight lifting only has just made me look puffy. I've tried it twice. I do intend to start gaining weight shortly after hitting my target, however. Edited by Sam, Aug 14 2011, 09:44 AM.

Wow. We're almost the same. I can't really give you any tips. But one thing I should clear up is the getting bulky myth. You said you want to avoid weight training because your afraid it'll make you bulkier right? I don't think it's true. Or at least not completely. You'll get bigger, but it really depends on what exercises you do. You could do shoulder exercises and avoid exercises like bicep curls if you don't want the "chubby muscle guy look". lol. You'll keep your lean look and your arms will move faster too Intensive Interval Cardio is also a good option.Raising your metabolism with exercises might just help you reach your goal. Actually. Screw that. I know it will! But you'll have to commit. Edited by Spirit, Aug 15 2011, 03:51 AM.

I have tried bulking up with flab/fatness before and I just looked awful. I was very strong at one point, but, also fat. I just was fat and strong. Then I tried again while having excessive flab and it also looked wrong. I just want to get very, very thin then move up from there. Not bulemic/anorexic level though. I have been doing arm/back exercises... avoiding chest and abs, since those are the areas that I want to remove the "fatty" part from, and do not want muscle to build up underneath as that will make it look even worse. I'm also doing leg exercises. |

I Do have really good dieting tips if you were a girl, but since youre a guy and DO want to look bigger it might not help you though im not sure.. :/ This may seem obvious already, but you should eat more fruits and vegetables. You will definitely lose weight eating those :) Try not to cook vegetables because they loose most of its nutrients that way. eat them raw because its healthier. And i encourage you to cook your own meals since YOU KNOW whats in them. Even if it s not healthy, its still much better than eating it at a restaurant because you dont really know everything they put in them. I hope this helps :) |

I have a good meal plan for you. Stick to this meal and train and you will get the results you want. Obviously you have to train properly, but since this topic is called DIETING and your post was way to long to bear with I'll give you an organized meal plan. Meal 1 4:30 AMPoached Eggs on whole grain toast, a grapefruit, one or two glasses of 1% milk, multi-pack of vitamins Meal 2 8:00-9:00 AMYogurt, Raw nuts, a fruit of choice. Meal 3: 12:00PMBroiled fish, dry baked potato, green vegetable(s) of choice, preferably steamed, one or two glasses of 1% milk. Meal 4: 2:00PMTuna salad, scoop of cottage cheese, fruit of choice Meal 5: 6:00-8:00PMbroiled chicken breast, brown or wild rice, green or yellow vegetable of choice, fruit of choice, Coca-Cola or Beer THAT'S RIGHT COCA COLA OR BEER, WE STILL GOTTA LIVE A LITTLE. Meal 6: 9:00PM* Protein Shake* Unless I went to the gym that day, if I hit the gym I'll have my shake as soon as I'm done my workout, If not I'll have it here. You'll be eating various meals, but you won't get fat. These are good, natural, mostly unporoccesed foods filled with nutrients the body needs anyhow to be strong and healthy. Especially if you're training. In bold is the time I eat btw. Edited by Mc Esse, Aug 16 2011, 03:00 AM.

Intensive Interval Cardio is also a good option.
