I don't really watch anime lol but I'm only into DB and Avatar the last airbender. And when I'm watching those it's usually on my ipod. Gotta love netflix.

My parents don't give a damn what I watch lol. My friends don't care because I don't really talk about it much. That's what a message board is for. lol.

But why do you guys order anime when you can just watch it online?

What Ani said.

That and I'm a collector. I just like to try to collect everything I can from the things I love. It's a hobby.

... and most online streaming sites are illegal. So many people watch anime online illegally, and the anime industry is really suffering because of it.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

My dad is disappointed because I'm not some player that hits on every girl he sees. My mom is pretty supportive, for the most part. Or rather, she just doesn't really care much what I do and lets me choose my own path. My dad is the hardest to live up to though. I rarely see him, yet, he expects me to be just like him. It's kind of annoying.

My parents initially disliked my idea of quitting my old job to go back and study for another 4 years. Mum then started to support me when she realised just how unhappy I was with the job, but pointed out that I should really think it through, especially in terms of finances. It took dad a while to support my move though.

That, and they didn't want me going to Japan this year after that nuclear incident in fukushima. I was really itching to go, but then realised that I wouldn't have enough money, even if I wanted to go anyway. They seemed to agree with me putting it off for a year, and hopefully I should have enough money for the holiday then

I may be late to this topic, but hey, heres Poohead's 2 cents.
My Parents were never exactly supportive, but they were very tolerable. They let me watch/read anytype of genre or anything like that. My friends are kind of nerds, but they draw the line at anime. None of them watch it. They like star wars (not as much as I do), and video games. I'm the only anime friend, and I don't even think they know I watch anime outside of DBZ.
Either way, if I ever need to show my extreme nerdiness, then I do it online. Just today I realized how much of a nerd I was AGAIN.
I spend most of last night watching star wars, and then I read some of my Wheel of Time book, then wake up the next day, to watch some dbz, more star wars, play some halo, and then watch the new trailer for the old republic. Even when I ran errands, I still had sword fights and lightsaber duels in my head, with some kamehamehas.
(BTW, I'm in a starwars phase atm. Usually I just like it, but I always have a dbz craze. LOTR and Star wars show up every couple months though in my head)

The point is, no one where I live is as big of a nerd as I am, but since I have online friends, I can find a place to be nerdy! :D

Ok unlike most people here my parents don't push me to be anything they want me to be. They do push me to go to college and that stuff, but I really don't have a problem with that. They don't tell me what I should do with personal stuff like Religion, politics, or what I do. Now my dad isn't exactly supportive but he doesn't disprove of me doing anything either. If I told my dad I was agnostic right now he would be like whatever. Now I am not saying he would let me smoke or drink but when it comes to what I like to do or my beliefs then he doesn't say a thing. Now my mom it would be hard to tell her if I was agnostic. I am not sure what she would do though, she said she doesn't think anything of them but doesn't support them though.

Now when it comes to things like the books I read or the anime I watch they really don't give a darn. They don't force me to play sports or to watch what they want me to. My parents let me do my own thing. I do some sports though but if I want to quit they would let me. So I guess I am one of the lucky ones. Also my parents don't know that I am an agnostic. I might tell them but I will wait. But my dad is somewhat of an agnostic I think. So if I tell anyone it would be him first.
