Ya I agree the only thing good about Kai is that it brings new fans to it that have never seen it before and that is a good thing, I know Toei did it but as the guy up there said I dont hate kai I just dont like it and think that they shouldnt of even bothered, at the same time it can turn people away because I have no idea how it doesnt bother other people but you can tell where they re-animated places and it looks cheesy, if the entire thing looked like that it would be better but its only random parts and it makes it feel like a cheep lazy job they should of just re-did the entire thing, DBZ has enough fans and is one of the most biggest series worldwide it would not be hard for them to just redo all of it instead of half assing the show and re-release it, it would be hardly any work to re-do it to, think about it first of all they wouldnt have to draw NEARLY AS MUCH because all the filler would be left out, and plus now everythings drawn with the help of computers there are tons of shortcuts nothing is drawn frame by frame anymore so for them to take the original show and just fix it up a little bit is extreamly lazy of them and does show that they do not care for the fans, they wanted to find the best way to get the quickest buck, think about it everything they needed is already there all they had to do is -re-drawn some parts and just do the voice acting and music and thats it. Again im happy that Kai can bring new fans but at the same time wish they didnt even make it. |

And I thought that Dragon Ball Kai is the same with Dragon Ball Z Kai lol. I like the filler episodes in dbz and I really enjoy it. Ah, I wish that the rumors about Dragon Ball Hoshi is true and not a lie. DBZ is epic, but need more graphics like Bleach movies. |

Uh... guys? You do realize that DBZ Kai completely redeemed the original Funi dub, right? And by "redeemed" I mean violently trampled on by muddy boots and tossed in the trash. Tee-hee. |

Wow, from what I've read preivously, I thought a lot of people here were big fans of Kai. It's nice to know that a decent amount of people have the same feelings as I do towards it. I enjoy filler a lot. I have the manga if I want to just get the nitty-gritty. I really don't care if the quality is that much better; the substenance is what I care about. |

I just see it as a way for Toei to make money, and a large amount of people hopped on that band wagon. I don't think the anime should be remembered by newcomers to DBZ as - 100 episodes. |

Lol you must have the wrong forum bro. After watching Kai the Funi Frieza Saga was pretty painful. I guess it wont be If you grew up with it considering thats what your heard for like 10 years.

Actually, I was one of those people who heard it for 10 years, and I still agree that the Kai dub does a heck of a lot better job, especially with that saga. The acting in the old dub was sooo over-the-top cheesy. The dialogue in Kai is much improved. And the voice for Frieza... definitely better. Well, that's my last post for the night. I have to get up early tomorrow for my volleyball tourney. Wish me luck! Hope I don't fall asleep on my feet and screw my team over.

I watched 2 episodes on Toonzai then I bought Dragon Box 1 and watched the whole Saiyan Saga Funi Dub. Later on I watched some of the Frieza Saga English Kai and finished the series (End of Frieza, Android, Cell, Buu) with the Funi dub. I'm 15 btw. Edited by Ani-Nation, Aug 20 2011, 05:23 AM.

Okay, I see. Yeah, my roomate at college had never really watched DB/Z. So, since I own all of the original Oceans and Funis that came afterward, I decided to watch the whole series from the beginning. We didn't watch Kai though. So, after watching the Frieza saga, I found a clip of Kai's Frieza voice. Being VERY used to the original voice, I was practically offended, ha. My roomate, however, said he liked it better, and I was even more appalled. Of course, I understand now that whatever voice your used to you like more, and, if you were introduced to both Frieza voices at the same time, the dude's voice would make more sense. |
