Which DBZ Manga Should I Buy?

I've already purchased the first volume of the regular DBZ manga, but I was wondering if I should start purchasing the Vizbigs instead. For me, it's not so much about the money. Either way I'll be glad that I spent my money on something that I love, since I'm a collector.

My main question is which is a better collection of mangas to show off as part of a collection? Which has better interior artwork, spinework, and value? Since I already have the first volume of the original, I'm inclined to collect all 26 volumes of it, but the spinework of the Vizbigs look really neat, and I like that some of the pages are in color.

What do you think would look better on my shelf? lol. And which is better in general? Also, do you know if they are going to be releasing the original Dragon Ball manga in the vizbigs? Have they already done that? Thanks so much!!

Edit: Just found out that they have Dragon Ball in the vizbigs, but what does the spine art look like? Could someone tell me? Thanks! :D

The Shojen Jump issue manga's are the best I heard. My favorite as well.

I have the last three volumes of the Vizbigs, and I must say, they're beautiful. I have like ten volumes of the original Viz manga, and they're definitely not as pretty or high quality as the Vizbigs either. If you're looking for beauty and high quality material, Vizbigs are the way to go. If you want originality and nostalgia, you should probably try to find the original volumes. I really only got the Vizbigs because they were cheaper than if I got all the normal volumes in bulk, and I needed something on-hand right away.

Thanks, guys. I might end up collecting both of them in the long run, but for now, I don't have enough money for both. I might start out by collecting the Vizbigs because they're cheaper, and then slowly purchase the originals as I'm buying other things. Maybe when I'm on a manga run, I'll throw 1 or 2 original volumes into my cart or something.

I love Dragon Ball, and I'm a bit of a completist when it comes to my collections. (maybe I have a little OCD in me somewhere. lol.) But your advice definitely helped! I'm glad to know the Vizbigs are high-quality. I'm excited to see them for myself.

if it is a matter in question of which looks better, get the single volumes. If it is a matter of saving money, get the Vizbigs

The Vizbigs are definitely the most popular. That's all I see at bookstores.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and bouncing back and forth between the two... But I think I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Vizbigs. The more I look at them, the more they seem to look just as nice and collectable as the originals. And they're cheaper. Which is great, because I'm spending a lot of my money collecting the individual Naruto volumes. =P

Thanks, guys!

Naruto vizbigs don't exist. They have the 3-1 omnibus', but they're not as good. Unfortunately. I think I'll stick with the individuals on those! ^_^

I got the Dragonball and Dragonball Z mangas that came in the box cases from amazon. They are a little pricey, but at least you have a nice, neat box to keep them organized. There is also some extra content in them too.

Here is the link

Yeah, I've heard of it. From what I see it's an amazing set. The box is well made and the art for it is incredible, and all of the manga come in brand new condition.

Yup, it is. They were all in perfect condition. I have them under my bed now in the nice cases that came along with it. They are like suitcases so you can carry your manga around. The extra content is pretty neat too.
