Flashy Thing!

http://blog.games.yahoo.com/blog/866-xbox-addict-dies-from-blood-clot/ Indirectly of course.

I find it strange that people would play for so long without getting up/taking a break. The guy who played for 3 days non stop....that's crazy.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I call that being lazy and obsessive not dying because of video games

I hate all these stupid claims about games like that "Oh it's those video games fault!"
No people aren't being controlled it's the persons own choice that makes them kill someone or die blaming the games on things like that is just pathetic and looking for an excuse

Like years ago when somebody blamed the game "Manhunt" for them murdering someone/people
No, that person was clearly just mentaly damaged sure the game may have pushed it but it would have happened sooner or later anyway

I don't have a game that doesn't involve at some pointing killing someone, I haven't murdered anyone as far as I know

With that I blame a lack of social skill if they had friends they wouldn't have sat around the house so long, if it wasn't games it would have been films or whatever else they spent their time doing
Because it's not their fault, they never chose to play the game they were actualy forced to play it, of course

I was being sarcastic :P

Just in the sense that with this kind of thing(what the topic is about) it's always something else's fault not the person who decided to do whatever in the first place, according to the media

Indeed. Games may INFLUENCE people but for people to be influenced, the want to do the action must be there already. Like you said, it'd only be a matter of time before they did it anyway. This way, the media has it's scapegoat. They'll refuse to believe that it's the individual, it has to be something.

Still, this could be used to scare people into doing more exercise.

Steve is right. It's obvious that person let his obsession get the best of him. Why would anyone want to die from firing kamehameha waves on a screen all week :o_O:

^Lol what

If I played Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on wii for 72 hours except for sleeping and eating, I'd probably end up ok. In fact, I'd probably be able to hurt people with my kamehameha actions.

This is believable. Not the video games fault persay but it did play a role by being to addictive. But I guess that can go for anything. I remember back when MGS2 came out I would lock myself in my room from 7 in the morning to midnight and some days 2 or 3 in the morning. Actually now that I remember I did that with any game back then I was a video game junkie. Now I can't play a game for less than a few minutes before turning off or handing to my little bro. It's not as crazy as it seems is all I'm saying. The parents due however need to keep a keen eye on their children. Obsessions can come in the name of Video Games so watch out!

What I don't understand is why the parent's aren't getting any blame, but his Xbox is? Call me insane, but Microsoft includes various annoying little things that advise you to take a break every so often, while his parents apparently did nothing of the sort. So, to be perfectly honest, the video games at least made an attempt to stop this.

In reality, I'm not blaming the parent's at all. I simply enjoy taking this convoluted and irrational logic of the media, and applying it to everything else with the slightest blame in or even just random associations to these situations.

I remember I used to go over to my friends houses and play games for 8+ hours.
I remember once when I played Age of Mythology for 13 straight hours.
Ah...those were the days.
