I always thought it only comes from the damage created by Majin Vegeta. I don't think Buu being revived from Goku powering himself up would make sense. |

Well, I personally believe that if Goku had turned SSJ3, the sheer output of energy would forcefully release Buu, albeit weaker than he would've been if he were released with energy provided by Babadi and other fighters. The Supreme Kai himself said that any major force could release Buu

Interesting. I also heard the Kai say that any damage Vegeta creates gets sent back to the ship. Something like that. I think it's the episode Vegeta's Pride (uncut) if anyone feels like watching

Goku could have saved the world but he didn't. Yet he ended up doing so in the end anyways. Goku wasn't stronger than Kid Buu though. At best at equal with him. |

He was strong enough to take command of that spirit bomb and make it crush majin buus evil out of existence. Only the strong can command a spirit bomb so lets not take it lightly and act as if the spirit bomb doesnt kill justa about everyone it touches. I say just about because frieza survived a genki dama. Granted he didnt get hit with it full on, but it smashed him good. |

Holding the Genki Dama doesn't mean your strong. Actual it's cop out to hide that your weak. Using everyone's aid instead of your own strength. Goku is strong though it isn't the genki dama that made him strong. |

The spirit bombs power doesn't build up from the user so I guess the user doesn't need to be strong at all. It won't hurt the pure hearted either. Gohan bounced one back at Vegeta during the fight on earth. |

read again, i said you have to be strong to USE it. Not make one, i actually think that it is a unique technique, one that does what he already does but compounds it into somehting much bigger, these guys already absorb and redirect energy, it should be no surprise the spirit bomb exists. No one can control gokus spirit bombs but goku, yes i know krillin and gohan handled one but it was gokus first one, and not very big. Mosto fhte time the earth itself gladly gives goku what he needs, he's its protector, that was made official. Its only when the earth has nothing to give due to being blown up and dying is when he gets it from elsewhere. Quite an amazing technique if you ask me, cause once he has it he can do with it what he wants, why didnt he use the genki dama to fuel a kamehameha? that would have been easier than trying to kill buu with a giant ball of firey light. |

Ninjajp is right. If the opponent is able to push back the spirit bomb then it will depend on the user and his strength to break through. I guess the best example would be the fight between Goku and Kid Buu. |

I think everyone is missing the fact that this is an english dub line only. in the actual manga and anime, goku said hes been trying to finish buu off the whole time. |

He was going for one last chance to finish Buu off himself I think. In the anime he said he wanted Vegeta to have a shot. Pretty stupid if you ask me. I think his human body played a big part in his power shortage. And the form was new. |
