Crazy Awesome Legend

So if we encountered various alien races one day like in Star Trek and Star wars what are the chances that our technology at the time would allow us to cross breed with the different species? Also, it wouldn't just be an issue with genetics, but socially it may be problematic too. At least when people first start falling in love with aliens anyway. It was bad enough in the olden days when people of different colours and cultures interbred, so with a different species all together it may be even more of an issue. I personally like to think that by the time we encounter other sentient beings, our predjudices will be mostly out of the window and that humans will have matured significantly when it comes to tolerance. I don't see it being genetically possible, unless they're a direct off-shoot of the human species.. Kinda like Killzone |

I don't think it's to hard to believe that other sentient life in the universe is very close to our genetics, but if they were not, it'd be steril between us. that said, I'm sure they'd still get into relationships, and addopt, but I don't know if artificial incimination would be possible if the genetics were off by any margin. It's hard to say. the impact it would have on society, would be very mixed, especially if mainstream christianity were still roughly the same, but I don't think it would be. In fact, I wouldn't be suprissed if religions started becoming more morally questionable than the rest of the world, at the rate they are justifying things and the direction their going. anyway, if I met an alien, and I thought she was attractive, I'd hit that

while the idea would be cool, it would only be even remotely possible if the 2 lifeforms had the same origin. think of how varied life is on this planet, and we all share the same source. life from a different source would be different on a much more extreme scale. it would no longer be a matter of the 2 dna sets being incompatible, it would be a matter of one of them not even having dna (deoxyribo nucleic acid). even if the had nucleic acids, they could just as easily use rna (ribo nucleic acid), or pna (pepto nucleic acid), or any number of other chemicals, some of which could very well be poisonous to humans. what if they used different amino acids, or amino acids that are oriented differently? what if they aren't carbon based (unlikely, since carbon is the most ideal base for chemical based life), or what if they use another liquid besides water as a solvent (again unlikely, water has some very unique properties that make it ideal as a solvent)? while it may be possible to crack their genetic code (assuming they have a recognizable genetic code), and "translate" it into dna to create a hybrid with traits of both races, it's highly unlikely. the only real chance for us to be able to breed, even artificially, with an alien race is if our races had a common origin, and then through convergent evolution grew to be very similar. this would be possible if life did not originate on earth, but was carried here by comet or meteor, or if life on their planet began from a chunk knocked off of earth. |

list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god | |

I don't think reproducing with aliens would be possible, but I'd probably be in an alien relationship regardless haha I don't think humans will ever mature when it comes to tolerance though. The unknown is always scary, especially when it comes to a life form that's as intelligent (or more) than us and possibly dangerous. |

I think it's downright impossible to form an opinion on this subject with so little information to go by. The likelihood of there being aliens in the universe is very high. But it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility that some other life form out there wouldn't even be able to breed our way. And besides, their genetics might be completely incompatible with ours. Who knows? |

One assuming they migrated from earth. Two that their ecosystem and evolution hasn't evolved long enough for us to be completely different. If those two situations come into play it maybe possible for us to breed with aliens. Though they're are tons of more situations to clear to have a healthy baby those in my opinion are the most predominate. This is coming from the little knowledge I know from classes and outdated internet articles. It's a big Unknown for know for the obvious reason as they're are no aliens to breed with. |

It could be possible, and it would be cool What i'd give for a girlfriend with a tail... But yeah inevitably humans would try to mate with them if it was possible and I'm sure eventualy the alien species would evolve to be expecting human DNA to enter it's system and would eventualy incorporate it into it's design and be able to reproduce human/alien hybrids That's if we didn't just start a war with them because they came to "our" planet which obviously we don't actualy own anyway In the perfect world it would probably happen, but humans as they are would probably just end up killing or being killed by the aliens lol |
