Ok live action dragon ball didn't work too well to say the least. When i talked to some of the DBZ voice actors they told me that it simply couldn't translate to the big screen, that it should be kept in the anime. However CGI is the 'in' thing nowadays so i don't know how an anime movie would go in the box office.

CGI while interesting can't handle the load of action that is DBZ. Besides DBZ isn't nearly as well polished/drawn as Final Fantasy is/was. Do it the RIGHT way the ONLY way the Anime way. Pokemon, Yugioh, etc got their movie time. DBZ needs it too.

DBZ would never get the funds needed for a high-quality CGI movie, so no thanks. Live action doesn't work for DBZ.

Anime is the only way to go in my eyes.

High quality hollywood CGI, AVATAR type...would look good. It would probably allow them to pull off the techniques used, fights etc. As far as another movie...no way. I don't think it would be a hit. Unless they did a hard reboot. Different director, actors, plot etc. Maybe just go straight to the Saiyan Saga...I dunno. After the crap they pulled with Evolution I believe it would not be a good film.

If they were to do anything, just do another anime movie. Maybe that would pull in some dollars.

Anime, defiantly. Dragonball cannot be made into a good live action film and that's that. It will always be better done anime style.

CGI? Would be good, but who is gonna pay for it? Make an high quality anime movie, that will do it.
Once upon a time, there used to be a signature. Then it got lame, and now I'm out of options for a new one.

I voted live action.

Surely the whole point of the movie is to make it look real and to make it widely distributable. An animation can't be those 2 things in the UK/USA.
I thought this was meant to be something different, an animation is more of the same usual dbz movies.

With the right commitment live action can be pulled off no problem.

Mark Twain once said, "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect."

However, that said, I find myself agreeing with the majority. Anime is the only way to go.

Live action has already failed spectacularly. Without the kind of budget necessary for the average Superman movie, it just can't be done properly.

CGI, if handled with the utmost care, could work. However, I really don't see it happening.

Anime style, on the other hand, has been working for 20-30 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Exactly.

Anyway, if you look up on youtube stuff about live action dbz you'll find some good fan made videos. I also posted a topic in the Dragon Ball evolution section with a video of live action dbz, which I thought was good and showed it can be done.

MAGICAL GIRLS REPRESENT

I still have hope for a good live-action movie.

But if it HAD to be done, I'd be okay with a CGI movie.

We already have an anime series. WITH ANIME MOVIES. I'd rather a big-screen adaptation be a new format.
