argh My terra drive has started acting up and now it's telling me I have a cyclic redundancy error. I looked it up and apparently it means the hard drive is bad. I think this is stupid cause I didn't get the thing too long ago. It was like, last year September. I have a lot of video files on there and they seem to work still I.. don't know what to do anymore :/ |

Make sure you pull everything important off of it. If you can. And then get a new one. There really isn't much you can do with it after it starts going wayside. Also might I suggest you use a certain command in the run prompt under start. chkdsk /r Is this an external drive? Edited by Rockman, May 28 2011, 06:32 PM.

yeah, it's external. I pretty much just got it though. Why would it start going bad? |

Have you bumped it around in any way during your move? Sometimes hitting things or bumping them around, even unintentionally can cause the needle to scratch the disk. Causing a bad sector. |

*late reply* If it's that new surely it would be covered by some sort of warranty? If it's a problem with it maybe they can help you? ~T |
