I don't know if there is another topic like this, but I'll give it a try, and I'm sorry if I'm breaking any rules. I've started watching Dragon Ball again, from the beggining, and I'm already on GT saga. Now the interesting part is that Goku always stays young. Most of the times in DBZ he got killed and then brought back to life, and just in time to fight the bad guys. Even now in GT saga, he's kid again, by a mistake of Emperor Pilaf. Everyone else is aging, except Goku ![]() What do you think ? |

I don't understand? What do we think about Goku turning young again? I think its a load of crap and so is GT. It was just a entire series to quench the unsatisfiable thirst of Goku fans for him having spotlight. |

No, I mean he's always kinda young while everybody else are getting old little by little in every saga. I know that this all is supposed to be about Goku and Dragon Balls, at least in the beggining (DB), but how the time passes, he stays young (30 years old, I guess). In my opinion, it's not fair towards other characters. |

well, he spent 8 years dead. plus, saiyans don't noticeably age, they just get old and die. and, goku has a 1,000 year lifespan after the buu arc, because he got old kai's life force. |

list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god | |

Just 1000? I thought Kai's were several thousands year old? That's just coming from the youngest Supreme Kai. |

Really? Makes sense too. Makes me wonder how old King kai and King Yemma are then. Probably younger considering the Supreme Kai's are above them. |

Well leaving all the deaths and wishes back In general Saiyans aren't seen as getting old as quickly as humans are. I think Goku might've been a prime subject of that. I mean he's got literally no stress over anything except when villians are rampaging all over otherwise he's happy go lucky. i think that is implicated even when you compare how old Vegeta looks vs Goku and they're only like a few years apart, I forget. Vegeta is obviously older by a few at least. Point being Goku doesn't have anything that can cause him wrinkles or unwanted stress that would make him age faster. he works his body but he's very good at maintaining it in a state where he's not overloading it when its no necessary And yes as everyone else mentioned he got 7-8 age free years and he also had the life of the Elder Kai so he can easily live long as long as his body can take it. But yea, he's always looked young and handsome as I'm sure AT wanted to present it that way. |

I think Vegeta explained in the final chapter of the manga that because Saiyans live for battle, they stay in their prime longer. |

All that and the main character can't appeal to kids as a old wrinkling man who screams. NO ONE likes that. |

sounds like an old wives tale, as far as what vegeta said. saiyans compared to humans have a superior genetic makeup with a denser molecular structure, i mean cmon evolution explains them, transform into giant apes who shoot beams of power from their mouths, not to mention their incredible resiliency and ability to come back and be as strong or stronger than what tried to kill them. They are a race of super beings, why would they have a human life span? |

I think i see what youre trying to say OP, but that's an invalid statement. Goku is only aging at a slower rate because he is a Saiyan in comparison to someone like Kuririn being a human he has no chance of keeping his young beauty :P |

Toriyama said in an interview that a Saiyan's lifespan is about the same as a humans, but rather then ageing slowly over the years like us, they stay in their prime until they get to a certain old age, then they rapidly deteriorate. DBO says that Goku and Vegeta went out into space for one final battle (the aftershocks of which could be felt on Earth long after) when they felt age start to creep up on them, so I don't think Goku actually got 1000 years off the Elder Kai. DBO says a lot of things. Though its fun to read and/or hear about it shouldn't be taken as proof. Besides........how did they breath in space? Critical error anyone? |

There's nothing to contradict it, so I see no problem in taking what it says as fact. The creator of Dragonball supervised the story, added to it and OK'd it, and it's his universe. If he says "Okay, this happened", then I'm not gonna argue. I would of thought a battle out in space to mean going to an uninhabited planet with breathable air, just so they wouldn't hurt anyone. Not a big deal for any of the Kai's to find. They could of just gone to the Elder Kai's world again to battle for all we know, I doubt they'd just be floating in the middle of space battling. |
