ok now i know dragonball z is a fiction anime series so whatever occurs in the episodes shouldn't be thought about with too much thought but there are 2 separate occasions where i was completely lost and thought that the events seemed quite ridiculous. the first example was when goku teleported Perfect cell on to King Kai's planet to save him from destructing and thus destroying the earth. now after cell exploded, HOW did he 'magically' get goku's instant transmission technique? i mean sure i can understand that if he's absorbing people than it's ok if he takes on some physical appearance aspects, but to learn a technique? that's a bit silly... and after cell teleported back to earth after killing goku, he didn't really give an explanation as to how it happened. much the same as the way Agent Smith was telling Neo how he came back, in the matrix trilogy. not much explanation, even if it is clearly fictitious. now the 2nd example involves Buu when the fight is held on the Kai Planet. now i can grasp the concept of regeneration of a limb like Piccolo so frequently did, but to regenerate organs, a brain, a heart, bones and conscience and memory from a small chunk of Buu's body? seems very far fetched. perhaps many of you reading this will be thinking, ok this guy takes this wayyy too seriously but if 1 thing is certain, i'm a fan of DBZ like all of you, so you should be able to understand where i'm coming from. thanks! |

cell gained the instant transmission technique from one of goku's cells that got lodged in his core. dbz works off the principle of genetic memory, in which long term memory is not only stored in the brain, but in every cell of the body, transcribed into the noncoding portions of the dna. it's a fairly common sci-fi concept, used in various media, such as the movie 5th element. so, when cell got hold of one of goku's cells, he gained access to all the skill goku had gained since the fight with vegeta, which is where cell's earlier goku cell came from. as for buu. buu doesn't really have organs, per se. from what we can see, his body is just the one, uniform pink substance all the way through. remember, he isn't a natural creature, he was created through magic, so the rules of natural creatures don't really apply to him. that's why, to kill him, you have to destroy his ki, and not just his body, or else he will regenerate from even a single atom that was part of his body before. |

list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god | |
