Anyone here like footy games? As in soccer not american football.
I have fifa 04 and fifa 06 for ps2 and theyre both pretty good, although fifa 04 just felt too much like a game if you get me. It was too dead the interface and stuff. Fifa 06 was much brighter and had more options and variables and stuff.
Never played pro evo/winning eleven.

Wow, that's old school. I think I still have one of those lying around somewhere. Don't you play the newer ones like Fifa 11? That's a great game. Much improved from the older ones.

No not yet anyway. I have a wii which I guess I could get a new 1 on but not sure if the gameplay will be as good as on a playstation. I don't really watch football much now since my dads moved out and also Liverpool have just been abysmal recently so I can't be bothered to stay up for match of the day/get my mum to let me watch it. Priority games to get atm are one piece/budokai 3.
What's good that's new from 2006? Guessing more players look realistic but aside from that? Mainly what I care about is manager/career mode.

I had LMA manager 2003 back in 2003 or something and it was officially the worst game ever in my books lol. All you did was watch Liverpool/your team lose over about 20 minutes or something. I might be exaggerating but I know it took too long. The only way I made it more interesting was by putting the ball trail on so I could follow it, and I pressed buttons in the hope I could actually control them, and if they happened to move in the way I was trying to get them to move I thought that I had MAYBE done it.
I only had that game because my dad bought it for me before I liked football. My dads really sporty whereas I'm not. He always used to make friends with my enemies at school. It cost like 3 quid lol.

Also I remember how on fifa 2004 I used to always score goals from just over the halfway line with Hamann, Anthony Le Tallec and Shevchenko.

Where the earlier LMA manager games better? Because I remember having a friend who kept going on about them.

The only thing I enjoy about the old Championship Manager games is the database editor, so you can add stupid players.

I don't know about newer 1s or ones pre-2003 but 2003 was boring for me. It did have good reviews though I'm pretty certain, and I just looked on youtube and some people say they really loved it so I guess it was just me-a 9 year old who hated football and only knew 2 players-owen and beckham, and possibly Henry but probably not. Don't even think I knew Gerrard.

It's not just the graphics on Fifa 11 that are better. The whole engine is smoother, more fluid and more dynamic. Even the commentary is better. Though after the novelty wore off I mutec it. There's different camera settings you can have too. Like you can have one like your watching it on tv, or another where you behind the players or you can have old school. It's really good. This feature may have been on 06, I can't remember but you can choose to play as a single player rather than the whole team. You can even be the goal keeper. If you're fed up with being in goal, you can just adjust the settings next match and play as the whole team again. Penalty shoot outs are a pain to get the hang of though.

Yeh you could do the camera thing on 06 and maybe even on 04 I'm not completely sure though. The thing playing as only 1 player is interesting, although I would've thought that would be boring if the ball just left your section of the pitch. Still a cool idea it makes it more like playing football for real and could even help you improve in real life possibly with regards to positioning and stuff.
I always loved the commentators otherwise the game feels too dead for me. Like in fifa 04 nothing had any explanations like in 06, and you didn't get letters/interview questions etc to reply to so it just felt really dead. The commentators make it seem more real although they still are clearly computerised still as they get things wrong sometimes like that was a great shot when it was a cross. Still they help the game a lot for me otherwise it would be depressing.

i really enjoyed and got into the manager modes in the fifa games, so i tried lma manager 2006 on the ps2 and i really didnt like it. maybe im too stupid for a fully fledged manager game, but it also might be that the fifa manager modes were in games like fifa 10. maybe i just need a newer one like fma 2011.

I love fifa games. The first one I played was fifa 96. Ever since fifa 2008, I've been purchasing the games. I wasn't too happy with fifa 11 though because it was difficult to score, and people always scored off corners and crosses. Fifa 10, in my opinion, had better game flow. I mean I went from winning many games to fifa 10 to losing a lot of games in fifa 11. It doesn't make any sense.
