Bruce Lee is one of the greatest, but not THE greatest. Oh and one thing more, that would answer why Bruce didn´t fought Muhammad Ali or why people underrate him because he didn´t fought in tournaments, i think that guy makes an great point. Edited by Nusu, Mar 6 2011, 08:07 PM.

The reason they never fought is as follows 1. They respected each other immensely. Bruce would study Ali's movements to learn how the greatest boxer moved. Ali would make comments about how amazing Bruce was. 2. They both were the most popular in their respective fields 3. The outcome of the fight would ruin one of them |

I never said Lee was THE best,I never said Ali sucked. Im saying Lee would beat Ali. Ali=strength.....INT lower than Lee's by a little. Lee=Intelligence,speed,coordination,many styles,strength slightly lower than Ali's. If You deny fact You deny everything. |

Muhammad in his prime was strong, because he was fast, he was combining his strength with his speed and the flurry´s he made during his prime were deadly. Bruce Lee is faster though, and is pretty strong. His punches would´ve an faster and harder effect on Muhammad then, Muhammad´s would´ve on Bruce. Also, Bruce Lee is the inventor of JKD, which got strongly influenced by Wing Chun and other styles, this means, somebody who isn´t aware of MA would have an hard time especially against a fighter like Bruce to predict him. I think Bruce is pretty good, but I find people overrating him HIGHLY, like he could defeat God (if there is one, respectively), the Roman/Greek Gods, the Romans, the Spartans, the Persians, and the Nazis combined. Please, give me a break. He's a human. And yes, I know people overrate Chuck as well, but from what I've experienced, people know they're overrating him and it's for entertainment purposes, but I've never met ANYBODY that would admit they're overrating Bruce or accept any evidence against their claims. Just my opinion. |

Well I don't think he's the best so I don't think I overrate him. I've read the accounts and his achievements, I've watched his instructional videos and not just his films. I think I have a pretty good idea of how good he was. I think he'd almost definately be a high ranking cage fighter.

That's fine, at least you've done your research. I was merely speaking of the people that have only done the basic research or heard heresay or only watched his movies. I can't have a civil debate with that kind of people because they won't allow anything to penetrate their fantasy world. And that could apply to Chuck's side as well. |
