This is possible certainly. Gohan at first was only able to handle the Zeta Sword with the Super-Saiyan, later he was seen handling it with his base form, from basic logic, Gohan is during this already stronger/on par then/with his Super-Saiyan and that in base. I take martial arts, and I'm fairly confident that I could swing a broadsword faster than someone decently stronger than me and do a horse stance longer than someone decently stronger than me. Why? Because I'm more trained to do it and more used to it, not because I'm stronger. Gohan had been training with the Z sword for a while, so he's more used to it. Goku had been training with weights for a long time, so he's used to it.

A few hours; yes, the buu saga took place within a few days in universe, of training with a heavy sword does not make up for 7 years of not training and surpass Goku, who trained in those 7 years in Otherworld with heavy weights, heavy gravity, and powerful training partners such as Pikkon and Olibu.
You do know that Goku's Boo arc Base wasn't THAT far ahead of Gohan's Cell Games Base. Going by DBZ logic it makes perfect sense.

What your doing is arguing against DBZ logic, and trying to bring real world logic into DBZ, it doesn't work that way. In DBZ people can fly and shoot energy blasts, that's not possible in the real world.

If you leave out real world logic in DBZ, then everything they do makes sense.

On-Topic.


Well, though, one difference. The Zeta Sword is based on strength, Gohan wasnīt able to handle or to lift the sword in base, so he transformed into a Super-Saiyan to do both.


After getting it out of the Rock as a Super-Saiyan, Gohan returns back to base to give it a try.

As you can see Gohan lacks the strength to handle the sword, in your case you have the strength and you can handle the sword, the other guy has also the strength but canīt handle it.

Now Gohan trains as a Super-Saiyan, as you can see the Super-Saiyan gives him the lacking strength to train with the sword and to handle it properly.

After returning back to base, Gohan is able to lift and handle it now, in base. The training increased Gohanīs strength and made him strong enough to lift it, the only explanation for this is, Gohan surpassed or is on par with his Super-Saiyan.

Now here you see Gohan having mastered the sword. To be fair, i donīt wanna make this to hypothetical, so i just keep it normal, and say Gohan just gained a *****-load of power.

So to finally finish of the whole Goku is stronger then Gohan debate. Gohan is stronger.

Sad but true for some Goku fans.

Goku struggles with the sword, he as not enough strength to properly swing with nor to handle it.

 because fpssjgohan is once again trying to come in and say that everything that makes anybody besides goku, vegeta and piccolo stronger than raditz is a complete gag, and everybody else is an idiot for taking the manga seriously.
list of canon sources:

the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga.

list of non canon sources:

everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality.

for those that blindly follow word of god

The debate started trying to prove that Goten never got stronger than Goku.

People didn't wanna except that Goten's Base was higher than The Nameks.

That's like watching GT and saying the Japanese dialogue is taken too seriously, so go with the Funimation Dub because it makes the weaker ones out to be stronger than what's logically possible.
