What the GT ending means

I always just thought since Goku is so pure of heart, he took them into himself to cleanse them until they could be used again. I also thought that Goku is on the Kai planet and remains there until the Dragon Balls are cleansed...but that's just me.

Omega Shenron

Yeah, the Dragon Balls basically got the 360 red ring of death.

Except the average 360 doesn't transform into a galaxy destroying evil dragon when it overheats. But you can buy one like that for $400 on eBay.com.

But seriously, back on topic.

I really loved this ending. It was amazing, albeit it could have been better. I also hate the way everybody was just *****ed in a corner. Hell, Vegeta should have gotten just as much credit as Goku. He helped beat Omega Shenron, too!

It was cool though. A fitting ending. Sort of.
The blonde girl with the black lips turned to Valkyrie.
"We know," she said. "We've seen the future. We know you're going to kill the world..."

Release it Gohan! Release everything! Remember all the pain he's caused... The people he's hurt... NOW MAKE THAT YOUR POWER!!!!

I think in the end of DBGT Gokuh becomes a Buddha. I'm suprrised no one has discussed the ending of Dragon Ball in the context of Buddhism. After all, Dragon Ball is based off of the Journy West and has strong buddhist themes all the way throughout the text. It seems to me the end of DBGT most strongly supports Gokuh's enlightenment. Throughout the entire series Gokuh is a perfect buddhist.

He became buddah? I doubt it but it is interesting to think of.

That was dragon balls. He went off to be a guardian as Shenron is. Though nothing is truly stated so your take on it is just as possible as any other.

Masako Nozawa, Goku's VA stated that the final scenes/segments where Goku rested on Shenron's back, sayin in the Japanese Version "Ah, its sure warm here, Shenron..." Those words were impressions that Goku is leaving the world to the Other World.

It was further supprted by DragonBall's disappeaaring into Goku's body, before Goku himself vanishing....

Masako Nozawa-san told that the writers, which means the storyboard writers never really mentioned that Goku died...but somewhat she claims that his Spirit is Eternal, where Sun Goku is training right now in the Higher Realms and he will be back soon...

Phew..THIS was what I found in some random interview which was done in 1996, but somewhat I found it relevant to the topic...

That's nice to know who's the head of GT anyway? What did they say about the ending? Surely Akira couldn't have a say in it seeing as GT was pretty much fanfiction when next to DB and DBZ.

I just think Toei trolled everyone with that ending because the series didn't do as well as they thought it would. So, they just thought "don't like our series? Fine, we'll get rid of Goku at the end and depress you all. Take that."

I think Son Goku died against Omega's final attack, and while he was in that ditch he made a pact/deal with Shenron basically saying 'look dude, I know I'm dead but hear me out, let me just kill Omega and then I will come with you to the Higher Realm to look after the Dragon Balls and you can rest like you always said you wanted to.' Something along those lines. It's better than Son Goku surviving Omega's seemingly most powerful attack....in base. He's now achieved spiritual omnipotence and is omniscient...well, to a certain degree, it is Goku after all.
Hey Piccolo......are..are you a Yoshi?

Highly doubtful. Nothing shows they would troll before and nothing during that.

Lol, that post was a joke. Clearly they thought it was the best way to end the series.
