Why were the andriods stronger in the present timeline?

The Mirai Androids' full powers were never shown. He said that against Gohan. We never saw Trunks final fight with the Androids, we literally just saw him fly off, then the next panel was him in hospital. For all we know the Androids did use full power vs him. I wont deny that possibility. Although personally, I don't see that Trunks being anywhere near double the strength of Gohan.

Future 17 only "didn't use half his power" in the previous fights they had, which we also didn't see; He may have gotten considerably stronger since then. When Gohan fought them for the final time he assumed he could beat both Androids at the same time with 1 arm, so the power chain could easily fit like this: Future 17 > Future 18 > SSj Future Trunks > SSj Future Gohan > less than half power 17 > SSj Future Gohan (Previous fights).

Future 18 didn't step into the fight unlike in the movie that was a strictly 1v1 between future 17 and Gohan, and yes it wa shinted that 17 did use FP on his last fight with Gohan because he said "you won't me escaping again." or something along those lines. Either way since Trunks fight with the future cyborgs were never shown it is safe to assume he just misunderstood their power.

When Trunks returns to the past he can't understand how so many things have changed. Then when they discover cell I think I remember him saying something about how Cell's presence may explain some things. Not sure how though to be honest. All he did was bury himself in the ground for a few years. cell has everything to do with it, geros computer created cell and it thought it was gero, and, think about this, what did cell say, how was he made, from samples of every fighter since the trunks saga, the spy fly collected the samples, possibly saw all the fights, possibly even heard the whole convo with goku, maby when it got back the computer knew what was going on, or gero, saw and heard everything the fly saw and it forced him to create more, and mede everything stronger........my theory

Idk if Gero would've seen or heard everything that the z fighters had when Trunks/Piccolo explained what was going to happen in 3 years or else Dr. Gero wouldn't have been surprised when Goku turned a super saiyan and wouldn't have been surprised when Piccolo told him that they were preparing for him.
