if i made a dbz rpg, i would have the layout similar to elder scrolls 4, oblivion. just throwing that out there. that games was an excellent action rpg, and elder scrolls 5 is supposed to be even better. i personally think the control scheme from one of those games would be just about perfect for a dbz game. |

I don't know, because DB is more martial arts based. You'd have to have a detailed control system for hand to hand fighting, which is possible. That's why I think it'd be based on a fighting engine with free-roaming sandbox elements. It'd probably end up being an MMO though, given how many planets you might want to be able to explore. |

If they did do something like that. It would be good to have many many lead characters. Instead of following the main arc. |

well, here was the button layout i was thinking of for xbox 360 a interact b character menu x ready/unready for fighting y jump d-pad 8 hotkeys to swith between different skills and items left stick move, further tilt = faster speed/ press to crouch/stand right stick look/ press to switch between 1st and third person view right trigger attack. handled the same as bt3 right button use equipped skill/ item left trigger block left button lock on/ press again to unlock. right stick cycles locks start system menu back map. iirc thats the oblivion control scheme, and it would work fine for a dbz rpg. |

Wouldn't the "X" button also be the fly button? |

Completely new story would be best, but I doubt AT would be down for that with DBO coming out. |

no, because i would go by dragon ball, where flying is a skill. it would be very low ki drain, possibly even being overrriden by your natural ki regeneration if youre good enough, but it would fall under the skill button. while flying, you would use a combination of the left and right sticks to fly in 3 dimensions. |

You mean you would have to buy a skill? Like current DBZ games? I don't see much difference. |

i would have it set up where you master each individual technique through use, or training. so, when you first learn to fly, which would be fairly early in the game, you wouldn't be able to do much more than hover for a few minutes. it would keep you out of harms way, but it wouldn't get you anywhere but as high as you can jump. as you use it, you get rank ups, which decrease the ki cost, and increase the speed, so you start floating around pretty soon, and eventually you start flying with ease, and hardly ever have to touch the ground. |

I still think Attack of the Saiyans is the best Z game I have ever played. Buu's Fury and Legacy of Goku 2 are second. I'm dying for an Attack of the Saiyans sequel. |

That sounds great but do you think people could wait long enough to learn to fly? Then again your going the DB perspective. |

yeah, dragon ball and gt are both under represented in games. i would make it from dragonball to gt, including movies 1,5,9, and 13. it would be a sandbox action rpg, similar to oblivion, and would feature a branching storyline as your custom character moves through the z-verse. so, if you kill pilaf in the beginning, then he wont release piccolo, and cell cant regenerate. there would still be a small amount of randomness, since piccolo's jar might wash up on the shore, and might be opened by you or an npc. if i made it, it would be a huge game, and would probably need 2 or 3 disks. |

That would be nice but it might be getting away from the DBZ feel of destroying things and beating up people. But change is good. |
