OK, OK, so alot of people are comparing Gogeta and Vegito. Some say Vegito wins because of Gogeta's time limit problem, others say Vegito is more powerful, and others say they will be equal. OK, now this is hypothetical so we're going to say that Gogeta has an infinite time limit. Now, let's look at this legendary battle this way... Goku has a power level of 1,000. Vegeta has a power level of 600. They try to fuse, but fail because Goku is too powerful. So to fuse, Goku powers to 600 and they succesfully fuse to become Gogeta. Gogeta has a power level 1,200. This is more powerful than the two originals, but not as effective if it were Potara. Goku has a power level of 1,000. Vegeta has a power level of 600. The try to fuse with Potara, and encounter no problems whatsoever! Their power level is 1,600. Evidently higher than Gogeta's because they completely fuse, while using the Fusion Dance, both users have to be completely equal power level wise. Kaioshin also states that the Potara's effects are more powerful, because of a rival boost. Fusion Dance was never stated to have a rival boost. Seeing as these are two totally different forms of fusion, from different races altogether, I have the benefit of the doubt. So, I say that the Fusion Dance also has no rival boost, while Potara Fusion does! Vegito > Gogeta. And It's settled. Edited by Naruto-Gogeta, Jan 4 2011, 11:09 PM.

It's not settled. Elder Kaioshin never says Potara gives a "rival boost." He says Vegetto turned out so strong because of Goku and Vegeta, not because the Potara magically gives a rival boost. If it's because of Goku and Vegeta, I don't see why Fusion wouldn't also grant this sort of boost.

Gogeta isn't canon, so he didn't get the explanations Vegitto had. And we can only make assumptions here, we have no idea if the "rivalry" aspect plays a part in Gogeta's power. And I don't recall fusion ever being described as doubling your power. I'm not saying it isn't true, but maybe some reference to that would be nice.

But I know in mine he states Vegetto is so powerful because of Goku and Vegeta, not because the Potara magically grants some boost. I don't know, maybe I'm comprehending it wrong and that really does mean a boost because they're rivals. Then again, I don't know, I'm getting confused without mine. D: |

Elder Kaioshin flat out said that the Potara gives a rival boost. Fusion was created by a random group of aliens the Metamorans, while the Potara Earings are made by Supreme Gods. I have the benefit of the doubt. It is official that the Potara adds their power level together. Fusion goes like this: Goku = 1,000 Vegeta = 600 Fusion can't work because Goku is too powerful, so Goku powers down to 600 to be equal. So, the result is this: 600 + 600 = 1,200 Potara goes like this: Goku = 1,000 Vegeta = 600 So, they clip on the Potara Earings and they combine together. Nobody needs to power down. The result is this: A power level of 1,600. What else is there to discuss? The only way I can see Gogeta being more powerful than Vegito because Goku & Vegeta are dead. And that's not even a power boost. Vegito > Gogeta |

Fusion doesn't double power. They add together. Goku = 1,000 Vegeta = 600 Doesn't work. Goku = 600 Vegeta = 600 Add together. Gogeta = 1,200 Goku = 1,000 Vegeta = 600 Does work. Add together. Vegito = 1,600. 1,600 > 1,200 Vegito > Gogeta |

I will, lol. Just not now since I don't have the time on hand. But I will say that I'm not denying Vegetto is more powerful than Gogeta. I stand by the Potara making a more "complete" fighter, as I've said in previous topics concerning these two. When I get back I'll bring more to the table. Sorry for the lame response. :P |

That settles it even though the Vegeta and Goku from the Movie were far stronger then their counterparts. |

Yeah, the difference between Goku and Vegeta was no where as great as the difference between Goku and Gogeta. But that's probably just Toei fuxing up the whole game

if we assume that vegeta kept the power boost he got from the majin seal, and we can assume that, because those are powers native to the individual, hence babidi saying "now let's RESTORE your power." the power boost from the seal is already native to the individual, it just needs to be brought out. so vegeta 1,000 goku 1,000 the fusion dance does not simply add the powers together, but multiplies the sum of the 2 powers by a constant. that constant is 6, imo. if it was simple addition, then there would be no possible way for ssj goten and ssj trunks, both weaker than ssj goku, to fuse into ssj gotenks, who is stronger than ssj3 goku. |
