SSJ Goten was keeping up great with MSSJ Teen Gohan. I'd say he was equal to or less than in power to Gohan. Now, Gohan, in comparison to his younger self (cell games) hadn't lost too much power, maybe 15-20% IMO. But I think even a 15-20% loss in power from FPSSJ Teen Gohan is enough to take out USSJ Vegeta. And if Gohan could do it, Goten could too. However, that just goes to show that Goten has the upperhand on actual strength. Vegeta is a much smarter warrior. Cockier, but smarter, and needless to say, more experienced. Though his experience hasn't really pulled him through in any fights, I think he might stand a better change than we think by outwitting Goten. And killing his rivals son.
