Looks like you have Windows Vista

What headphone/mic did you say you had. Like what company?

KÖNIG and I can't even find the official website. Been looking for a driver but KÖNIG is such an ambiguous word that loads of different things come up.

Yea, it really seems like you've gotten a generic headset that has no solidity. Did you get any papers or manual with it?

It's not this is it? http://www.konigelectronic.info/06_pcg/pcgaming12.php

I thought it might be, but then the website is so basic for a company that manufactuers hardware. I think it's a dodgey duplicate. They don't even have driver downloads and what's all the ***** about dealers? Seems a bit fishy.

Well is there anyway you can give us an idea on what your headset looks like. I mean I'm sure you could find it on amazon or something.

Well according to this you should have two input cables that connect to the mic and one of them connects the headphones. I think the green one will give you sound and the red one audio so on my laptop for example I think I had a mic outlet and a head phone. On most Desktop PCs you should have the same in the back of the computer

On control panel, click Speech Recognition and see if there is an option that says Set Up Microphone, my laptop has that option, but I am using Windows 7

After you've set up the headset correctly on your computer you should be able to do the speech recognition if it doesn't automatically detect it. On the game or whatever you're using it for as well. you should double check your settings so it can work

When I click set up microphone it says The wizard could not start, make sure your audio hardware is working properly and check your audio confugeration in the audio devices and and sound themes control panel.

When you get on your control panel
You're going to double-click on Speech Recognition
Then click Speech Recognition then
it should come up with a winow say Welcome to Speech...
and then you'd hit next, Select the headset
Then you make sure your headset is plugged into all the proper jacks and outlets. Then it will tell you to wear your headset, and read a sentence then it should recognize it and configure if it doesnt then it'll tell you to check that your microphone or headset it's on mute or any other sound device for that matter
