I can't get my mic to work

Apparently I need some sort of software to get my mic to work? But I don't recall getting any CD with my headphones. You'd think a mic would work like the headset but noooo. :@

Is your mic built in your computer? Or do you plug your mic in? Shouldn't need to install anything regardless of which one it is

Hummm, I think you have to do a test sound before it works.

Try doing this:

Click "Start" -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Voice -> Test Hardware

Don't have a sound and audio devices option on control panel. Only one called sound, to which there's a tab called recording under which it says no audio devices installed.

That might do it. It's always an option for me when I don't know what else to do. :yay:

My older laptop there were instances where it said I had no audio device no speakers or anything, after restarting it worked lol.

If it doesn't work see if you can get a screencap of your Control Panel menu

well first I think you should check if the hardware is compatible to the systems you're using. I mean i realize that it's an obvious thing but you never know...and yes restarting may help but Then If you weren't given a software CD then an alternate if trying to find the software online and downloading it. You can normally search the company name and then the hardware model to find the software.

Mics ussually don't need that much work, with this laptop and my older laptop I've used different mics without having to install anything. Ussually installation if for webcams. I don't think he's using Windows 7 that would help since it detects it automatically but my old laptop was windows XP never had any issues so I don't know, I guess it might depend on the mic?

Well these are really good headphones. Only cost me about £15 too. So I shouldn't be having too much trouble.
