why is he stronger?

 broly maintained his power while frozen because he was frozen. it slowed all his biological processes down including the breakdown of unnecessary muscle mass. as a legendary saiyan he probably gets bigger zenkais to begin with just like goku got bigger zenkais then vegeta. it is all a matter of how that particular gene set is expressed in an individual, and brolys whole claim to fame is he got lucky on his draw of parents geneticly
list of canon sources:

the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga.

list of non canon sources:

everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality.

for those that blindly follow word of god

 If you don't think that having a planet sized kamehameha battle with FPSPC and almost drained of your power that your fathers spirit had to come coach you because you nearly passed out... Phew, if you don't consider that"near death" then I don't know what near death means.

Ok that doesn't make sense TO ME, his body is maintained but yet he over powered a ssj2?

 sorry wrong order he gets big zenkais because of good genes and then being frozen drasticly slows down the loss of strength caused by inactivity. if he was just in a coma he wouldnt even be able to walk when he woke up. but freezing preserved him in a sort of nearly suspended animation

 Gohan wasn't near death. He was just really exhausted and drained. If he was near death he'd actually look near death. :rofl:

And yes, Saiyans get zenkais after being healed from the brink of death. But this aspect is completely forgotten once everyone turns SSj. Cell just gets it because, well... PLOT DEVICE. >_< And I guess Toriyama just wanted to give Broly one for whatever reason. =/

I don't know what zenkai you're talking about Gohan getting. He didn't get any zenkais after the Namek saga that we know of.

Videl survived Broly's clothesline the same way she survived Hildegarn's fire blast. Unless you can explain how that's possible when that same fire blast royally screwed SSj2 Vegeta, this point is unsubstantial in the debate.

That's him powering up to 100%. Before that, he was only 50% powered up, sans Korin's Tower. Gohan also powers up like Goku. They're not just then powering up into their mastered states. They've already been in that state for days, maybe months if you count the RoSaT.

But it's not as if he couldn't go 100% right off the bat, which is what he could've done in Movie 8. Like I said before (or did I?), I don't think they're completely post-RoSaT. I think they're mid-RoSaT at best, so to speak. So they wouldn't be as powerful in Movie 8 as they would be in the Cell Games.
Exactly, which was my point. They aren't at full power in Movie 8 (probably haven't finished training) but when they go 100% against Cell, that's what I'm talking about.

 because zenkais dont exist after frieza and so they needed broly to be stronger by either contrived plot device or cos they said so. either way, hes stronger for no reason.

Wouldn´t it be dumb from Goku if he or the others didn´t go full power? Lol, Broly is able to destroy a planet with a charged ki blast du´h.

Wow, 3 Pages of useless discussion´s, What have been made several times on this forum.

Gohan as he charged the kamehameha quickly transformed into SSJ 1 without any pushes, Besides saying "I had enough" whatever, But were he was against Broly he really pushed himself up and even screamed, My Point is Gohan is a MSSJ though, He don´t need to push himself anymore, He learn´d the form perfectly, It would be a huge plot hole if they forgot about the MSSJ Form of Gohan, Broly´s huge power increase must have something to do with his biological system Broly had with or how should i say without much training a power level of a trained Cell Saga Base Goku if not stronger (Of course without the head device), His LSSJ is on Perfect Cell´s level, Whatever ít seems like that Broly´s zenkai´s get magically stronger, Due to his "genes".

One more, Why should Toei ***** up twice in the same movie? They made Gohan SSJ 2 against Broly and SSJ 1 with the kamehameha wave.
Once upon a time, there used to be a signature. Then it got lame, and now I'm out of options for a new one.
