Removing the earrings wouldn't do anything.

 Yeah the removal of the potarra earrings after fusion doesn't do anything because the initial fusion is already made and its permanent.

 It's stated clearly and numerously that the fusion is 100% permanent.

Although, inside Buu it was also stated that the laws of the universe(Physics etc) do not apply. It somehow broke the fusion, which saddened me.

 You can see that clearly when Kibitoshin (Kibito+Kaioshin) removes the potara earrings to give them to Goku, Vegeta to fuse again to fight Kid Buu.

 I know the fusion was supposed to be permanent but i was just asking if they removed the ear rings would they still have split apart while they were inside Buu?

Do you think the power of the ear rings had a reason why they split apart inside Buu? Like they used to much power with that protective shield around him when he did absorb Vegito? How come Gotenks didnt split apart right when he got absorbed and Vegito from an entirely different fusion did?

1 > Wearing the earings or not, they would have split up. Elder Kai took off his earings and gave them to Kaioshin and Kibito. Elder Kai didn't defuse after this.

2 > The earings have no power, so thats an irrelevant question. They mearly fuse the two powers together.

3 > Uhh not sure what you asked about the protective shield, but it looked like it didnt take much chi to maintain. If they wouldve kept it up, they wouldve stayed fused inside of Boo.

4 > Theres a whole other topic answering your last question.
