I've always wondered how strong base Gotenks was. He breifly fought Majin Buu(fat) and got the crap beaten out of him yet SS3 Goku proved to be at least an even match for him. So my question to you is how strong was Gotenks in base form? Would he have been a match for Cell or Dabura? EDIT: No SS or SS3 transformations allowed. Edited by Y2J, Sep 17 2010, 01:34 PM.

I agree darkwarrior. Judging by the fact that he engaged Buu and not only survived but escaped, I'd say he'd have to be on SSjin 2 Goku's level. |

Well, let's put it this way. SSjin 2 Teen Gohan is around SCC's [SPC] level of strength, perhaps stronger actually. Remember that Gohan killed Cell at half power. That's quite a feat. And for Gotenks to survive Buu as he did, I'd say he'd have to be around the higher end of SSjin 2-level strength, around SSjin 2 Vegeta and SSjin 2 Goku. I will admit however it's possible he could be lower. We don't know what Gotenks went through when he faced Buu. But, if you remember the fight in the anime, I would say something similar to that did occur canonically, off panel of course. But, I don't think he could be much below SSjin 2 Kid Gohan. Because at that point, in my opinion, he'd just be too low.

Good point, I think due to the beating he took from Buu, And the beating Majin Vegeta took from Buu i might say that he was equal if not weaker, We gotta put it this way. Gotenks {Base} stronger then SSJ 2 Gohan and probably weaker then SSJ 2 Goku and Majin SSJ 2 Vegeta, It´s hard to say how strong the fusion combine´s their power, It might be that the fusion multiplies the power of the two. Example. SSJ 2 Goku: 220. SSJ 2 Vegeta: 220. Goten: 50. Trunks: 50. Chibi Gohan SSJ 2: 180 Perfect Cell: 100 Super Perfect Cell: 140 Gotenks: 200. So.. we agree that Gotenks was stronger then Chibi Gohan SSJ 2, Goku and Vegeta as they fought stated that they where both stronger then Gohan was against Cell, But i agree with you that Gotenks might´ve been a bit if not much weaker then them. Well Illusion summed it up. Gotenks had to be quite powerful to actually beat Buu around and still survive being beaten. |

The fight we see in the anime isn't in the manga, so yeah. We just know Base Gotenks survived. The only other people to fight Boo up to that point were SSj2 Vegeta and SSj3 Goku. We know Vegeta didn't survive but that was his own choice; who knows what would've happened if he actually tried to get away. I think Base Gotenks [pre-RoSaT] is around double to triple the Super Saiyans' power, but not quite on SSj2 level yet. I don't even think post-RoSaT Base Gotenks is SSj2 level. |

I don't really think Gotenks could survive without being on the SSjin 2 level. Gohan tried to escape Buu and Buu almost killed him. Gotenks actually escaped with enough energy to get back to the lookout. If he was below SSjin 2 he would've been beat like Gohan. |

A lot of people think that, and I don't have any problem with that. I just think he was nearing SSj2 level, but wasn't there yet. He's above SSj by a good amount IMO. |

I think he was stronger then SSJ 2 Chibi Gohan and a bit weaker then Majin SSJ 2 Vegeta. IMO. |

Probably as strong if not a little bit stronger then Majin Vegeta who also took it to Fat Buu for a little bit but ended up getting the crap beat out of him later. |

Base Gotenks Post > SSJ 3 Goku > Fat Buu > Base Gotenks Pre >MajinVeg Base Gotenks Pre is likely a good deal stronger than SSJ2 Majin Vegeta/Goku . Krillen says he has a chance. Piccolo calls him an idiot because Goku with SSJ3 is unsure if he could beat Buu. So Piccolo knows that Base Gotenks is much weaker than SSJ3 Goku who is unsure of winning which is why he calls him an idiot.
