Does anybody else think it's kind of a jib that Goten and Trunks were basically born powerful and they didn't have to work very hard to become stronger than Freiza before the age of 10! If Kid trunks were to fight his father during the Namek saga then Vegeta would be demolished by his own son and the same goes for Goku and Goten. I'm not saying it isn't plausible as we've seen plenty of naturally strong DBZ characters e.g Broly but it was just one of the main reasons I hated the Buu saga. Then there was that whole fusion mess don't even get me started on how much I hated Gotenks. |

On the inside, it always bothered me. I believe even Goku and Vegeta commented on/were surprised by the strength of the youngsters. I think (though I have no proof and am making it up on the spot) that Akira Toriyama made them that strong because he wanted to keep interest, allow the main characters strong enough for the villains. Also because Toriyama loves Saiyans lol. |

Well genetically Goku and Vegeta Unlocked the Super Saiyan DNA in their bodies. So it was simply passed down to them cause it was already achieved. The original Super Saiyan killed himself so he had no hope of passing it on to his race. |

It was explained that the original Super Saiyan achieved it in Oozaru form. And you know what saiyans are like in Oozaru, especially if they are Super Saiyan Oozaru's i.e. Goku in GT as a Golden Oozaru. He pretty much would have destroyed the planet he was on from the enormous power he had. A 50 x increase for super saiyan then a 10 x increase on top of that for Oozaru. I think in the manga it didnt state that the original super saiyan was Oozaru but it makes more sense that he killed himself from being Super Saiyan Oozaru than just Super Saiyan. |

You know what they say half breed tend to be stronger and Goten was a half breed. Remember Kid Gohan? Remember when he unleased inner power he actually knocked Raditz down? Remember how he was the first to achieve super saiyan? Seems fit that Goten and Trunks would achieve it sooner than everyone because as others have said Goku had already achieved super saiyan and therefore it became genetically active, meanwhile when Gohan was born Goku had not achieved it yet |

I would also have to say that Goten and Trunks' unnatural strength was a result of their father's unlocking of the Super Saiyan form. It was passed down to them genetically so that it was easy for them to become one. Which means, for them, rage wasn't necessary to transform. Perhaps strong emotion, but I doubt rage. Nothing like seeing their friends killed happened, so... |

Half Saiya-jins are at stronger point from birth since they don't have a tail(I'm not exactly sure HOW this makes them stronger, but in Goten and Trunks' case it was explained it made them much more powerful than say Gohan) but they don't have the saiya-jins determination to train/fight.. So they end up slacking off |

well gohan was born stronger than his raditz saga dad. its fact that half saiyans >>> full saiyans. probably because saiyan blood is most compatible with human. |

^^Y2J, The future timeline is slightly different. I would assume that trunks was conceived before Vegeta went SSJ in that timeline. |

Yeah, it would definitely make sense. Consider this, Vegeta didn't get angry enough to go SSj until after he saw Future Trunks go SSj. So he was most likely conceived pre-SSj |

^^Fulgore, that makes a time loop. Because then in the future timeline, Vegeta achieved super saiyan (im pretty sure), but by that theory itd be only if he saw his future trunks go SSJ and in THAT future trunks' timeline, he would have a father who had achieved SSJ. by seeing another future trunks go SSJ see what I mean? |
