I think the fact that Goku trained in otherworld helped him achieve SS3 but would it be possible if he wasn't dead? Not sure. That might be the reason Vegeta can't go SS3. Goku figured out how to do it when he was dead and Gotenks is a fusion. I think the real reason might be Vegeta just hasn't had the proper training and didn't think it was possible to transform a third time so he never pushed himself to. |

Dragon Ball Z Saga Trailer : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhUkxNkALm8 I've adapted the DBZ anime by editing the anime seasons down into feature films. | |

Yes, the advantage of other world training was the ability to push his body with no limits. After he mastered turning SSJ3 in the other world he could be able to turn SSJ3 even after revival but he pushed his body too far and couldn't maintain it very long (such as fight with Kid Buu, failure to focus SSJ3 power). I think that he could be able to turn SSJ3 if he was on earth but only after much much longer training than in other world. That's why Vegeta wasn't even close turning SSJ3 in DBZ. |

To answer the threads question: Why cant they go SSJ3 alone? Because they arent strong enough. They each have the potential. Hybrid saiyans are much stronger than full blood saiyans, especially in trunks and goten's case (they dont have tails; makes them naturally stronger than someone like gohan). If they were dedicated to training like Vegeta and Goku, theyd get it. no problem. ^^also, I dont remember anything about the afterlife body affecting SSJ3 in the manga. sources? |

His Other World body can sustain the massive chi drain that SSj3 brings. His real body can't. |

I hope kamikaze answered your question. I felt it was common sense! where else could he have trained for that transformation? |

I just dont think that was stated anywhere in the manga. That's why I asked for sources. Can I get a quote? |

I can't give you a quote, but I know for a fact that Goku said something about him not having the trouble of SSj3 in Other World. |
