So guys what teams you think will make it to the World Series. I believe that the Atlanta Braves will face New York Yankees. Yankees have a good pitching rotation. They got AJ Burnett,CC Sabitha,Phil Huges. While Braves just got Derek Lee which would be great since they recently loss Chipper Jones. It would be a good match up to see Braves versus Yankees World Series 2010. |

I'm a huge baseball/yankee fan. With that said of course I want to see the Yankees in the world series, and I think they can make it too, especially since it seems like their bats are beggining to pick up(I watch pretty much every game) for the national league I'm not too sure cause I don't really watch many of their games, but it would be nice a Yankee vs. Braves world series it would be a rematch from the 90's where the Yankees won it |

Yeah nice to see Yankees fans on this site lol. I almost thought I was the only one who likes Baseball. But Tonight other than less Yankees plays Mariners which should be pretty easy for Yankees. Sabitha pitching and I think Yankees will pretty much sweep Mariners. |

Haha my first screename on this forum was Yankeesalltheway90 haha, but for some reason this year the Yankees can't seem to do good against Toronto. It's painful watching those games where they seem like they can't hit, but I still watch them because I always have hope haha. They still have six games against the Jays throughout this season hopefully they can win four out of those six. |

Yeah I know Yankees lost to Blue Jays 6-3. But I think they'll get back on track. Plus them and Tampa Bay are tied for first currently so I don't knowwhat will happen. |

It's still very early. I say the Padres vs The Yanks will be the World Series matchup. You guys know the Yankees rule the AL (not much over the Rays though, so anything can happen, they can be on the wild card for all we know by season's end) The San Diego Padres are the best team in the National League this season. They got their impact prime player, Gonzalez who leads the team at bat, althouh this year he is not carrying the team on his own. There has been an almost perfect 5 man rotation this season for the pitchers, Latos, Leblanc and Richards are 3 good pitchers are are still young. Their relievers are doing a very good job of saving games this season. In short the team is composed of a chemeistry of young players stepping up their game and oldbeat players who are following the trend and making a contribution. The result is that were are almost in the month of September and the Padres have earned 76 wins, the most in the National League. The Giants are 6 wins behind the Padres and currently lead the wild card by 0.5 games over the Phillies. Although the real season starts tonight, the Padres just lost their last games 5-11 to one of the worst teams in the NL (Arizona) and are about to play the Phillies, whom despite loosing 4 straight and loosing an opportunity to catch up to the 1st place Braves, they still have the playoffs in very clear site. It's going to be a tough month. Teams to watch out for would be the Red, the Cardinals, the Phillies and the Braves who are now involved in their own tight pennant races. The Yankees offense seems to have come around and on paper they should have a better team than the Rays. But they've been hit with problems Javier Vazquez being inconsistent and having a dead arm. A.J/ Burnett having an awful month of June which if he had had at least one good start/win in that month the Yankees would be one game ahead. Pettitte being gone for a long while already. Phil Hughes innings limitations as well as this being his first full season are starting to affect him. At least their bullpen has been solid |

On paper the Yankees should be good. Just by looking at their payroll of what is it? 205-215M? San Diego spent 38M$ this season which is also much lower than the majority of the NHL (hockey) teams. With the lowest payroll in the league the team is still leading the NL.

I don't really look at the payroll of the yankees much because the Yankees tend to overpay their players anyways but also people tend to forget the yankees have a lot of players built from their own talent regardless that some are getting old. Posada Jeter Pettitte Cano Gardner Thames-came from the yankees farm system before going to Detroit Hughes Rivera Chamberlain Robertson Cervelli Pena So at least 12 of their players are from their own system. Then you have someone like Swisher having a great season and he wasn't even supposed to be one of those top players. Then they have Arod who is in a big slump and hes the highest paid player in the team. I personally believe if Cano had better fourth throughout the whole season he would have way more RBI than Arod has right now so he'd be over 100 already |

At first Robinson Cano was doing so good. He was on a roll. Tonight Burnett is pitching ..... Burnett hasn't impressed me that well this season. In the last game 6-0 Yankees lost becuase of Burnett. So hopefully Yankees can pull this game off against the White Sox. |
