Trunks is under the assumption that the Andriods in his timeline are fighting at full power.

17 later admits to Gohan that they haven't been fighting them at full power.

Statement made. Statement contradicted and retracted.

Like Pelador said, 17 never made that statement in the manga but in the manga, Trunks did make his statement about the androids in the past being much stronger than their future counterparts. Whatever is in the manga is the real deal because that's what the anime is based off of.

17 did say that in the manga. Lol. I do not even pay attention to anime stuff that would be dumb.

So why bother posting if you don't know what your talking about. Read the manga first, then offer opinions.

Where did 17 say that in the manga? I retract my opinion if that is fact. Haven't read it in months so my bad if that's the case. Stll, regardless of the fact that the Androids may have been holding back, they're still blatently weaker than the present day Androids, Trunks, Gohan and Picollo were all one shotted by the present day versions. Whereas Trunks and Gohan could withstand much larger amounts of attacks from the Future Androids. Plus Gohan and Trunks faught them both at the same time remember, and Gohan had one arm. I'm sticking with my opinion despite the lack of real evidence to prove either argument.

When 17 is about to fight Gohan before he kills him. This is the Gohan with one arm...

There's no evidence to suggest they are weaker though. That is just an assumption a baseless one. Making baseless assumptions are best off being used on a logical assumption.

Here is an example.

No reason for me to believe anything different between the two timelines andriods. ( Logical assumption )

17 and 18 toy around more with Gohan and Trunks because they have killed everyone. They are the only two worthy of giving a halfway decent fight so they keep them around to kick around . ( Baseless Assumption )

See what I mean? It's easy to argue anythng. But it's better to argue about what is the reasoning behind the factual side of things.

That wasn't the least bit patronising.

You say 17 contradicts Trunks' statement about the present day Androids being stronger, but how is this so? Surely Trunks is making his remark after he has allready experienced the full power of the future Androids? After being one shotted like he was, he must understand the full power of the Androids in each timeline, and so to say such a thing would not be a rough guess for him.

So I assumed he was right, big deal...

Besides, the androids in the past weren't trying either but they knocked out Trunks in just two hits. How long did it take the androids to do that in the History of Trunks?

Trunks has been fighting the androids in his time for years and he only fought the ones in the past once. Based on that scuffle alone, I'm sure he can tell the difference in power seeing how both counterparts toyed with him.
