I'm gonna be honest here and admit that sometimes voices pop into my head. They generally try and persuade me to do things which would get me into a lot of trouble. E.g burning down the house with everyone locked inside, stabbing everyone whilst they sleep, Pushing my mother down the stairs ect. Sometimes however there seem to be so many voices speaking so quickly that it just sounds a bit like white noise. Or a stadium full of people. So why am I admiting this over a public forum? Especially when it may very well alienate me from the rest of the community. Well the answer is I just feel I need to tell someone other than mental health professionals. I certanily won't tell my family that I sometimes have a voice in my head trying to persuade me to kill them all. That would be a bad idea. So you are the only people I can really talk too. Thanks for reading. Oh yeah if anyone else gets similar voices or thought please don't be embarrassed to share. |

They usually ask me if the voices worry me. To which I reply not really. I'm never going to do what they ask. They're just voices. They can't force me. They also have to be careful not to put ideas in my head. I'm particularly susceptible to that. So I think as long as they feel no harm's being done and I'm quite happy to put of them for now then there's not really much they can do. Hense why the subject moves on relatively quickly. |

I had the same problem back when I was getting myself into tons of trouble and I felt like even though I didn't want to get into trouble the voices would still somehow force me, the voices in your head happen to be your "sub-conscious". |

I've always been confused about how people hear voices in their heads. Is it just your subconscious mind urging you to do something? |

I think voices in your head are your own thoughts, but your brain sort of masks them with different voices than your own, so you believe the thoughts to be somebody else's. It's obviously not supposed to happen, so that's why people with these voices need help. As to where the thoughts come from, I have no idea.

Pelador, if you ask me, I think you should go to a counselor or something but what Mitas is saying above is exactly what happened to me when it comes to the thoughss and he somewhat explains about sub-conscious mind aswell, I was beginning to think back then that I had two personalities, than I got a book about the sub-concious mind, and it explains everything about the thoughts and every else.. |

Sounds schizophrenic but it could also be your sub-conscious. See a counselor. |

I see a psychiatric nurse every three weeks and a psychologist every six months. I know that the voices are really my own and that they come from my subconcious. I studied psychology for a year at school and I learnt all about schitzophrenia and faulty thinking ect. Do you think the fact that I can also hear two songs in my head at once is connected too? Or have my normal thoughts talking away but have music in the background. Is that supposed to happen? |
