(Or Super Mario 64, whatever) Yes, epic nostalgia. Such a cheerful song. It always cheers me up. Now. Tell me you've played this game. Shame on you if you haven't. It was my second video game ever (the first being Super Smash Bros.) and it's these two games that really kicked off my Gamer career. Any thoughts on this game? If so, what? (I can't think of anything else...) Edited by Bouncefox, Jul 31 2010, 11:49 PM.

One of my favourite games of all time. I don't think it can ever get boring. Always trying to get every single star just to get launched onto the roof to see Yoshi lol. I never could though. Some of those challenges were really hard. |

I did manage to get all the Stars, but that was in the DS version. And I got to use Yoshi. :P I think I should go back and get all the stars in the original. I've noticed these remakes have always been easier. :/ |

You're absolutely right, each generation of games is progressively easier. I can't get anywhere on retro games anymore. I don't know how I ever finished them. Especially since you can't save your progress. Final Fantasy for example, barely any clues as to where you have to go. Zelda 1 and 2, immensly hard levels and once again difficult to know where to go. Even the first Metroid game was notoriously difficult due to the fact that that there are no maps telling you where to go. ON A METROID GAME. That's like playing it with no eyes. Plus you can go to areas where if you haven't picked up the right equipment and weapons you can be one shotted. Nowadays you can't acces harder areas until you have the right stuff. Even on Metroid. |

I never played those old games - too young. I'd love to play Zelda 1 and 2 one day, if I can ever download it or something. Heck, Smash Bros. was hard for me when I was first starting out. I had to get my mom to unlock Ness for me. X3 |

What's the oldest game you've ever played then? I think the oldest I've ever had a go at is Space invaders. Unless Missile Command came out before it. But generally that era of games is the oldest I have ever played. |

Try Demon's Souls, noobs. I platinumed that baby. Now, you can too. This is one of the best adventure games I've ever played, along with Zelda, Oblivion, and Banjo Kazooie. I've gotten all 120 about 6 or so times on this game. Unbelievable game. |

The games particularly enjoyed back in the days during the late 90s when there was the good ole Nintende 64 was Super Mario 64 (that was actually the first game I ever bought), GoldenEye 007 & Super Smash Bros(these two games bring memories, I remember back in the day in my early teens, I would go to my friends houses, and w bunch of us would have these S.M Bros & GoldenEye 007 "tournaments" ). |

Oh my the 64 days were the good days weren't they. So many good memories of Mario 64, Goldeneye and Smash Bros. Mario 64 revolutionised the game industry with it's amazing gameplay and great level design. Even Goldeneye set the standard for every shooter released after it. I even bought the Mario remake on DS, with it's horrible controls. And I look forward to the upcoming Goldeneye remake

This was a brilliant game. I could pick it up now and play it (well not literally as I don't have my N64 anymore and gave all my games to my younger cousin), but it's timeless. Me and my cousin (not the younger one, this one's my age) would spend hours playing it. I never completed it though, but I hardly ever complete games. |

Games that really kicked gaming into a new generation are really timeless. I wish I knew a few more other than Super Mario 64 or OoT... >< |

To me, the first Pokemon games (Red and Blue) are timeless. I still play them now and again and still enjoy them. |

I could just download it if I was desperate. I believe Sonic The Hedgehog was quite revolutionary when it came out. I still remember all the loctions of the giant rings for Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles to this day. Super Sonic FTW. |

Oh, I remember doing that when I was little. I can still do that now, since my N64 wasn't touched by my parents. They just moved it into my room. Which was nice. It made way for the Gamecube. X3 ~ I never really got into Sonic the Hedgehog. I don't know why, but I just couldn't figure out where to go after a certain level. It's odd, 'cause the game seems really straightfoward to me. In face most Sonic games are. It's just in some places that I get stuck and it takes a day to solve. I think it's something like that that me quit and not go back. I should finish that game one day. |
