I've always thought this would be a really cool battle. The samurai warrior vs the English knight. English Plate Armour from the 15th-16th century was pretty much some of the strongest you could get. (The Germans had the best) The standard broadsword could also arguably rival a bushido blade in terms of cutting power. Both are forged in similar ways. I think that the samurai would win. The armour seems to have more manouverabilty and the helmet looks easier to see out of. The armour may not be as strong but it's probably more flexible and practicle. Probably lighter too. On the other hand, English knights were taught various combat techniques almost as soon as they could walk. They were probably masters of several different types of weapons and fighting styles. Whereas the Samurai seems to be only proficient with the bushido, the staff and the bow. Arrows are useless against the most modern suits of armour. It would obviously depend on the individuals inside the suits but I'm still giving it to the samurai due to more manueverability, better vision and more speed. |

If They were just in normal clothes I think the Samurai would win. |

Maybe. It does depend on the individuals though. There are various samurai stories which recount such individuals. probably to a large degree of accuracy. Whereas English knights did not often go around dualing each other but instead jousted. Obviously some knights where better warriors than others. Without the armour though a samurai would probably win. |
