Bored, can't sleep. Miss those summer days of high school of practicing at 7am on tuesdays, and all the other weekdays practicing 3-6, running laps, doing drills, tackling. Anybody play/played football here? Care to share some experiences? |

No, I haven't played Football. I'm really not interested, the guys that were in my Physics class ruined it for me, and it's come off as a boring sport to me. Would much rather play frisbee. My Robotics team makes it a full-contact sport.

Seriously? Tackling in soccer? O..o Anyway, football isn't the sport for me. Heck, any sport isn't the sport for me. I don't think I would enjoy playing football much. My cousin would, though. O: |

Rugby is definatly more hardcore than football, I would never want to tackle without pads! I'm guessing nobody played football on the forums :(. How long have you been playing Rugby? |

@ Bouncefox. Yes haha, there was one Training we used to do were there was a keeper a defender and some one attacking, the person attacking had to dribble it straight at them and then get past the defender. It helped One on Ones with the attacker but it was more specialized for the Defender and the person who let the most people past them had to do 3 laps round the pitch haha. Also once they got past the defender they could shoot, that's why the keeper was there lol. @DaLucster72. You would think so but it doesnt actually hurt alot, there are some tackles which are killer but alot are Illegal, But I think American Football is just mor interesting lol. Ive been playing Rugby for a School from about 8 or 9 till when was 16, I havent played for ywo years because I went to college instead of staying at 6th form and the College didnt have a team, I havent played for a Team but I got two offers, Im thinking of joining one next season though. |

Football is pretty interesting, behind all those tackles comes tactiful play calls, that can make or break the team depending on if people know it or not. Also if you have a good team, then most likely your coaches run you like crazy, because in the end, it's almost all about stamina. There is a technique to tackling on rugby? I didn't know that, I thought it was just going crazy on everybody lol. Itagaki thats really awesome you got offered to play, I wish I got offered to play football in college, but then again college is a complete different level than high school. Did you get offered from a college or a Club? On a random note, Really Bouncefox!!!??? You think football is boring but FRISBEE is awesome!!!?? I don't think I would ever watch a professional frisbee match call me crazy lol. |

Can't be any worse than Curling? I prefer Rugby to American Football. It's so much grittier and there needs to be so much discipline involved. I always learn a new rule when I watch it too. There are so many it's ridiculous. I could never get the hang of the scrum, but I don't think I should have even been in there. Stupid PE teacher. He was a hockey player trying to teach us Rugby. I should have been on the outside waiting to run up the pitch. I was way too small to be in a scrum.

Here most of m ymates can not see why in american football you wear padding as we played rugby at school. But once I wished I was wearing it, I got studded in the face about a cm below my eye, any higher and I would have lost my eye. Same for me with the scrum, I was to small and not as strong as others. To be fair I actually prefer doing sports that relies on your own skills not on team work, Thats why I do fencing, but I llike playing Rugby and Football (soccer). |

I think American Football is alot more free in the tackles department which makes it more dangerous I think. Where as Rugby its Shoulder and grap around the hips or lower and take down, In that way I think Rugby is alot stricter. I dont think people can became pros from College here, University is what we call it in England lol , well They might be able to, Ive never been. I thought that you work your way up clubs like local, then maybe a main club in the area and then a County Club. I got Offered to play for a Main team in the Area and the County Team.

Even with pads injuries are common in american football. And I mean on average when a game starts there's at laest 5 - 10 people on a team that are injured in some way. So I'd keep the pads lol |
