:O

At least you can't hear car doors slamming in there, I suppose...
I really don't mind light if I'm dead-tired. Heck, I leave the light on from time to time. 'Cause I'm weird like that.

And I would be scared of a room in the basement. o.o

I would love to have a basement. At least then I'd have some sort of shelter if the nukes started raining down. I live a few miles from a Naval Dockyard so it would be an important target for a nuke. I think I'm just out of range of the blast but not the radiation. So a basement would be useful. Slightly off topic I know, but not completely. I'm scared of being nuked.

I like how the basement is the best place to protect oneself from something like a tornado or a hurricane. Yet, my basement is so cluttered, I don't know how safe it would be. I understand your fear, but like many of my fears, that seems irrational (to me at least.)

Why so scared? :o

Why scared of Nukes? hmm... might be something to do with the horrible death that occurs from exposure to the radioactive fallout or the perpetual darkness caused by all the junk that got thrown into the air by the blast. Or, it could be dying of thirst because all of the previously drinkable liquids have become irradiated. And, this might sound a tad paranoid *thinks of Black Sabbath :p * but it's possible we could get nuked at any minute. Who the hell knows what Korea and Iran are up to?

I think you just made me paranoid. I'll probably forget about that after I wake up tomorrow, though.

But I see.

SO.

...Darkness.

I can't stand complete darkness, unless I'm too tired to care.

My thoughts exactly. If I'm presented with that kind of situation, then my eyes are closed.

What about Alien abductions? Ever watch one of those shows about conspiracy theories and then get a bit worried that you'll end up being probed by an extra terrestrial lifeform? It would certainly be frightening to wake up half paralysed on an operating table, naked and being jabbed with prongs and cold instruments. Or even being disected without anneasthetic. Which brings me to another horrible fear of not being aneasthetised properly if I have to have an operation. It happened at the dentist once across the room from where I was. All of a sudden there was a horrible scream and we later found out the guy used the wrong gas. I think I would have sued. :)

Alien abductions have been turned into a joke by cartoons over the years. But, if one really happened, I'm sure the victim would be pretty terrified. I know I would.

Just the thought of it makes me cringe.

I can't empathize. That's never happened to me, personally. But I'm sure if it did, my parents would sue immediately.

The only sole reason that ever makes me scared of the dark is Aliens.
Reasons why:
1. They are real (that cant be denied)
2. They paralyze you so you cant move
3. Looking at an alien face to face would scare the holy crap out of me!!!!!!

I actually dont mind the dark its just when i think that there could be Aliens right there around me scares me to bits ):

I do believe in other life forms, but I don't believe in the stereotypical aliens that we've seen in cartoons over the years. That childish view they set upon the alien has really made me believe that other life forms don't know about us, and therefore can't invade us. And even if they did, what would be their purpose?

And even if it was to dissect some humans or something, what are the chances of them finding you? :O

So far we've managed to talk about Nukes and Alien abduction. In a topic about darkness.

Congrats.

When me and Pelly post in the same topic, it's bound to go off-track. That's like, a rule at this point. Awesome, huh?

Anyway.

DARKNESS.

I can't look into a dark area for more than a few seconds for fear of seeing something really creepy moving there. Maybe a monster's face looking back at me or aomething running past really quick. Damn those horror films putting ideas in my head.

Ya see, this is why I don't watch horror films / too many things that scare me.

If I look around in the darkness for too long, I'll end up imaging what's scaring me the most at the moment. I really don't like that feeling, and I'll get the feeling that someone is watching me. Someone I don't want to be watching me...
