MAGICAL GIRLS REPRESENT

I'm been thinking about Wicked the last few minutes.

"Wicked" is a book-turned-musical that is basically a retelling/re-imagining of the Wizard of Oz. It portrays the events in the original 1939 movie, but with a twist -- in the novel, the "Wicked Witch" is more or less the protagonist, and the Wizard is the ruthless dictator of the Land of Oz.

"In fiction, revisionism is the retelling of a story or type of story with substantial alterations in character or environment, to "revise" the view shown in the original work."

I was wondering, as I left Wikipedia to come to this website... what would a such a revisionism (if I'm using the term correctly) be like for the world of Dragonball? I'm curious.

my fanwork is a revisisionism of the entire dragon ball franchise. it's one example, but until it's done, you all won't be able to see how much of a twist I put on things.

it's only one of many infinite possible revisions that could be out there though. perhaps we should look to see if any other revisions have been made too.

I'd like to see a sort of revision in Vegeta's point of view. Serving master freeza, his rivalry with Cui, losing his whole race... and losing a fight against a low-class saiyan on earth.

I'm actually working on a AU revisional fanfic myself, just for fun of course. I haven't actually started writing it yet, though.

But I'm sure there's a couple of fanmade retellings out there, though not as many as there are fanmade sequels.

True. I don't like all of it, but I can appreciate all the work you're putting into it.

If I could change DBZ, then I would have Freeza be the main villain throughout the entire series.

Druing the Namek/Freeza sagas, Freeza would not have been there. His number one lieutenant would have been there in his place, and Goku would have become a Super Sayan while fighting that character.

The Android saga would have gone down nearly the same, except there wouldn't be a Cell. Freeza's son would go to Earth and fight in his place, and the Androids would have joined the good guys for the fun of fighting the son of the strongest creature in the universe.

The Buu saga would have finally been the Freeza Saga, with Freeza arriving and fighting the heroes. Freeza would be as strong as the kid version of Majin Buu. The story would be fairly similar, but Gohan would have finally saved the day with Vegeta and Goku's help in the end on Supreme Kai's planet.

So basically, no one would have been stronger than Freeza until Gohan won at the end of the seires. Also, I would give Freeza a better look. He could have the look and personality of his brother Cooler.

I actually really like this idea, to be honest. It sounds pretty interesting. :>
