Firefox Favourite Manga One Piece	xyxamus Jul 22 2012, 02:05 AM Hmm.... I think you all are forgetting one of Gengar's best moves it can learn. Gengar's Sucker Punch can OHKO Alakazam. Alakazam may have more speed then Gengar, but Sucker Punch always hits first. I would say that Gengar would totally destroy Alakazam in a single turn. Actually, Gengar can not OHKO Alakazam with Sucker Punch unless it has maxed out Attack EV training, which no Gengar raised by a sane trainer will have. Even with Life Orb equipped, and factoring in the super effective damage, the average Gengar's Sucker Punch can't OHKO Alakazam, assuming both are the same level. Even if you had trained your Gengar to have max Attack EV's (again, nobody ever would), it still only has around a 50% chance to OHKO Alakazam with Sucker Punch (again with Life Orb equipped). Alakazam just wins this match up hands down.

The Darkness Returns Posts: 3,163 Group: Member Member #5,205 Joined: September 2, 2010	Alakazam doesn't take hits better, what makes him stronger is Gengar's Poison type completely negates his Ghost type. Gengar gets one shot by almost every ability that's psychic that Alakazam has

Better off skipping the first 2 steps for 3 reasons: 1) Hypnosis has low accuracy 2) Dream eater is NFE agaisnt an Alakazam 3) Alakazam could wake up while you are attacking with dream eater. Better of just shadow balling it fromt he start.
