Are people who always swear, funny or annoying?

Well, I'll swear when I'm playing a video game, and I've gotten beaten five times in a row. Frustration leads to anger. Anger leads to swears, for me.

But personally, I find it annoying when I can hear other people's conversations around my lunch table. I'm always hearing the F word, and in natural conversation, I don't find it necessary. Even when you're yelling, it's not something that should be used. But, swears are the first things to come out of high-schooler's mouths when they're mad, I suppose.

Though, it is funny when you hear someone swear when playing a video game. :P

I guess I have a mixed answer on the question, huh? :o

MAGICAL GIRLS REPRESENT

Sometimes. Only time I can recall I doing it for a laugh is everytime I call my bff. She does something that I don't like, and I pause... then mutter "You *****." She giggles everytime.

I think of it this way. There are people who only swear because they think it will make them cool. Then there are people like me who swear and don't really think about it. But when I am meeting someone or talking to an adult or authority figure I will talk politely.

So anyways I find some people annoying when they swear and some others I really don't mind.

I don't swear constantly, but I have slipped up and sworn in situations I probably shouldn't have.

Swearing doesn't bother me. In fact, some of my favourite words are swears. Take F*** for example. You stub your toe, what's the logical thing to come out of your mouth? Sugar? No. Diddums? No. F***.

Like Stephen Fry, I think swearing is interesting. If a person feels they are better than somebody else purely because they don't swear often (or at all), then that's what bothers me. Sure, people who swear constantly aren't interesting. But it's just the same as if I replace every time somebody swore with the word "Flabbergast" it'll get boring after a while. Swearing is just a tool of language, used to illustrate points (at least it should be, the fact that this topic is here is simply because people abuse it) and add emphasis to what you're saying. "No." becomes far more effective with F*** added on. Even written down, it's more aggresive and tells you more about what the person's attitude is.

Aside from the fact that I have bitterness and unmeasurably pissed off anxiety, saying words like F*** reduces your concentration on pain.

That means, if somebody smacks your genitalia, if you holler out "Oh god! Oh F***!" it won't hurt as bad. Go look it up, please.

That is true, but I still prefer using words like flip, sugar, dammit and bugger. They have the same effect for me but are perceived as less offensive.

I've also read that swearing helps releasing stress

It does. I live it.

As for those who are easily offended, start prioritizing the more important things in life. Because I don't care about what offends you. I care about the afflicted, not the spoiled.

Agreed, it is silly to be offended by a word that means the same thing as another word which you don't find offensive. There are many worse things in life than swear words. However, hearing the C word being used consistently on Xbox live always seems to make me mute people. There must be about 100 people I've muted since I first started playing Call of Duty.

You came across some immature (probably young) people and you muted them. Sounds to me like I would have done the same thing. I doubt it would have crossed my mind afterward though.

They're usually people in their twenties. I mute any kids as soon as they open their mouths. They're too damn squeeky.

Well it just so happens that some people never grow up. Assuming that you're in your twenties, are employed (or at least damn sure should be), and spend your time cursing while playing video games, I mean. If that's what people do with their time at that age, well.

I don't have a choice but to play computer games for most of my life as my disablity prohibits me from finding work. Who wants to employ an autistic man prone to anxiety attacks and tantrums?

I was referring to those capable of doing otherwise. The morons you previously mentioned.
