How many stupid leaders from history can you think of? I can't actually think of many. Mary I was both stupid and insane for burning hundreds of people for heresy. George IV was a fat gluttonous buffoon if my memory serves me correctly. Although I always get the Georgians mixed up. I think Edward II was supposed to be incompetant too. Certainly had a disastrous reign.

I don't know if I'd say they were outright stupid, but many leaders throughout all history and all time have made some of the most significantly stupid decisions ever. I mean, there are "non-leaders" that make way more stupid decisions on a regular basis, but they aren't significant, ya know? I don't want to list a whole bunch of examples right now, but I might look up some later and share a few. I can't think of any I'd like to share off the top my head either, except for one....

Citigroup-According to New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and as reported by the Wall Street Journal, after having received its $45 billion TARP bailout in late 2008, Citigroup paid hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses to more than 1038 of its employees. This included 738 employees each receiving $1 million in bonuses, 176 employees each receiving $2 million bonuses, 124 each receiving $3 million in bonuses, and 143 each receiving bonuses of $4 million to more than $10 million. -"wikipedia"-

they did plenty of other stupid things with the "bail out" money, you can find a lot of it on the wiki, stupid way to show the world how corrupt you are with money lol.

lol. Their greed is clearly only matched by their stupidity. Problem is that a democratic government doesn't really have much right to interfere with private businesses. Yet the two are often closely linked, especially the banks. So as long as we have a democracy we're always going to have stock market crashes unless human nature undergoes a dramatic attitude change.

John I of England, haha. Err, John Lackland. True, he may have triggered democracy, but he wasn't a very good king, and he lost all his battles. How pathetic can you get?

That guy was the most evil English king of all time. I think he murdered his own brother if my memory serves. He might also be the guy who allegedly sealed the two princes behind a wall. I don't think it was his intention to trigger democracy in England. His tyranny just pissed of the barons who revolted against him and forced him to sign a document limiting his power. Can't remember if he then went and had them all killed. Sorry for my history being a bit rusty. Haven't studied it in years.

John didn't kill the lords, if I recall correctly. He wouldn't get his money then.

I remember a little story my teacher told me. So, Richard the Lionhearted gets captured and is sentenced to jail. He asks John to send money for his freedom. John likes the power of king so much, he takes a year to send the money after Richard threatened him. So, Richard finally makes it home, furious. He takes out his sword, walks to over to John...

And taps him on the shoulder with the tip, saying: "I forgive you."

I think John shoulda died there and then. :/

But then the Magna Carta would never have been written which a lot of our constitution is based on. Allthough something similiar was bound to pop up eventually. E.g the English Civil war 400 years after King John, influenced how my country's government works today to a large extent. That and the saxon settlers.
