And when I said taken England, I meant without additional help from the French. Even though they were loose allies. Initially it was to make Wales an independent country, so I think he would have been happy with just Wales, and he did name himself kking of Wales at one point. Invading England would have made him a hypocrite imo.

It's a very common trait of victorious generals/leaders. In fact, I'm not sure there's ever been a medieval leader who's said "Nah, that'll do." If you get what I mean.

I can't really think of one off of the top of my head. The ones I know of were arrogant or incredibily stupid. At least, ones in England that I can think of. Saladin comes to mind...but he didn't really stop in the Crusades, I think.

Defeating the larger (Turkish) Seventh Army squadron and capturing Jersulam, General Allenby became the first Christian in over seven centuries to gain control of the holy city. After the victory, Allenby entered downtown Jerusalem on foot, in respect for the holy city.
