Personally I don't see how Xavi and Iniesta made the top 5. There are better Spanish players. Another thing, why is Ibrahimovic not on that list? 11 goals in 13 games with Barcelona this season. He can handle the ball as well. Ronaldo's gonna win it again.

I'm not sure who'll win as I haven't been able to watch as much of the La Liga as I did last season, i'd say Ronaldo will probably win it.

Google Chrome Favourite Manga DBZ, Full Metal Alchemist	The Player of the Year nominations were made before this season started if I remember rightly. Or at least only a couple weeks into it. As for Xavi and Iniesta, they've had magnificent seasons. They've both been the key parts in Barcelona's dominant 2009 in which they've won every tournament they've entered (barring the World Club Championships as they only won that a couple days ago). They are Barca's two most impotant players (people will say Messi, but those are the people who only look at the surface e.g scoresheet). But neither of them will win it. Kaka and Ronaldo have had sub-standard seasons compared to the bars they set with previous achievements. Messi has done nothing but raise his own bar, casting aside any weaknesses people believed he had (he scored a header in a Champions League final that he dominated; people said his heading was weak and he didn't perform in big gmes). So my vote goes to Messi, and I'm pretty sure he'll win it.

Although if you're going to look at the score sheet, why not give the award to Ibrahimovic. He's been netting in goals since his arrival to Inter, and much more luck in Barcelona, granted Serie A is much more defense oriented than La Liga. Edited by Mc Esse, Dec 22 2009, 05:01 PM.
