Of all the enemies encountered in the dragonball universe, which was the most difficult to defeat? |

I would say boo was the hardest to defeat. He can regenerate like crazy, absorb people, seemed unbeatable, and then he blew up earth. He almost beat Goku too, if the namekians didnt wish Goku's energy back to full. He was such a cheap fighter, boo. I wouldnt say any of the GT villains were the most difficult to beat. Sure, they were outrageously strong, but it just took some hard work to defeat them. Like SSJ4 Goku handled bebi, Goku used the dragon fist on Super 17, and Goku used a spirit bomb on omega shenron. big whoop. None of them were as big a threat as Boo IMO |

Moved to Dragonball Discussion, this isn't really a versus thread. I think Frieza was the hardest for them to beat. He beat them at every single turn, every time they had a glimmer of hope he took it away, even Goku was terrible outmatched. If he hadn't very luckily managed to transform into a Super Saiyan right at that time, Frieza would of beaten them all even after that huge Spirit Bomb. It was only through sheer luck and multiple gains in power that they managed to win that one. Cell was a dangerous and hard to beat enemy, but at the same time he could of been beat multiple times while ascending in power, and he was always beatable for at least one of the heroes...Buu was a tough opponent, but once again he was outmatched several times, and there was always someone who was able to challenge him to an extent. The situation with Frieza looked hopeless for a long time. No other villain outmatched the main protagonists by such a large margin, and for such a long time. I'd give the runner-up prize to Broly in movie 8. He was nigh impossible to beat, like Frieza, but I'd give Frieza first place because he lasted a lot longer then Broly did. |

Cell would have made his fight "the most difficult" because he would have killed everyone. He won against them all, and then, gave them 7 days to have a chance to come back and kill him. He could have destroyed the earth then and there, and killed anybody he wished to see dead. Buu took advantage of every opportunity he had, and in comparison to Cell, there wasn't nearly as much going for him. He lasted the longest, and was a super huge pest, but there were various ways he could be stopped. I'd say it may be one of those two, since they both regenerate and often get far stronger in order to keep pace (aside from Cell's self-destructive choice to let his opponents catch up). |

Frieza definately, never has a villian had such a power advantage of the heroes every time someone challenged him he'd say; "I can transform again." "I'm only using a fraction of my full power." There's also the fact he survived a spirit bomb and everything the heroes threw at him through sheer strength not regeneration. |

Yeah, Frieza definitely was the hardest... It was only through luck really that Goku won, and if Frieza hadn't forced him to transform then there would have been no chance, considering that even after transforming he still struggled and nearly lost his life. If Frieza hadn't been so overconfident and given them the chance there would have been no chance and DBZ would have had an early ending. ~Tim |

Frezia and the Ginyu force. The main part of the saga they were lacking Goku and they were weak(the Z fighters). & Lets admit it, Vegeta was to cocky for his own good. |

Frieza, he was stronger than every other hero until Goku transformed in SSJ. -Cell was almost defeated by Android #16, then by Goku, and could also have been killed easier if they all teamed up on him, rather than taking turns. -Boo could have been defeated a few times, if it wasn't for hesitant stupidity by the heroes. -Raditz was outnumbered -Nappa was weak -Vegeta wasn't much stronger than Goku, Gohan and Krillin. Frieza was just so powerful, no one was at his level. |

I'm going to have to agree with everyone here and go with Frieza. If Krillin hadn't been killed Goku wouldn't have transformed and thus, everyone would have most surely died. Cell could have been killed easily twice, Android 16 could have killed him but didn't manage to because Android 17 was an idiot. Vegeta and Trunks could have definitely killed him 5 times over while he was in his semi-perfect form, but once again Vegeta proves to be an oh so lovable a-hole. As for Buu, there are so many ways he could've been stopped. Once again this one all rides on Vegeta who let his pride get the best of him, if he didn't fight with Goku, Buu wouldn't have been released at all. Gotenks could've killed Super Buu as an SSJ3 and Mystic Gohan was absolute over kill. Like everyone has been saying, Frieza was just too god damn powerful. Edited by SlyStrife, Nov 10 2009, 12:28 PM.

Piccolo even comments during Goku and Frieza's battle that, "Frieza has an unholy strength." after Frieza blocked a 20x Kaioken Kamehamaha with just one hand. |

I would have to say Cell. Cell was always serious and it seemed like all of the Z fighters had a really hard time defeating him. Gotenks could of defeated Buu when he was SSJ 3, but his ego took over and he did not defeat him. Cell however, killed Goku and could have killed Gohan if he hadn't turned into SSJ 2. |

You could say that about any of the main opponents in the series though. However I do believe that in terms of relative power levels it was definitely Frieza who was the hardest for the reasons said above. While Cell was a challenge it was not to the same level. He could have been beaten before he reached his perfect form if Vegeta hadn't be so self-confident. Frieza was the only opponent who did not survive due to a lack of effect upon part of the Z Fighters. ~Tim |
