![]() I like CSI and I have played all of the PC games, except Miami, I played NY but that should be ignored as a CSI game, it was total rubbish. The series of CSI:LV is one I watch on TV and enjoy, so I bought the games, so I saw this new one and thought "Hey, this should be better than the previous ones." but I was wrong, oops, spoiled the ending of this review. The games had been getting better, story wise and everything, this one just turned to mush, it wasn't for the absece of some of the old chrarcters that left the show, it was the gameplay and simplicity. Gameplay: The new puzzles and DNA searching was pretty nice, I have to say, that's one of the things I liked, you didn't just stick it into the computer and get a result, aside from that, most of the other things are dumbed down or been introduced before. In past games, you had to work out which tool to use for evidence, after finding a print by dusting, you had to collect it but in this one, it's done for you, for the tools, all you have to do is select the right category, which, unless you are a total moron, is easy to do. There's no real challenge, everything is so straight forward, often you can pretty much tell who's involved right away in this game. There was also a lack of detail, in previous games, you'd update evidence and you could go back and read the new update, now you don't really get that, not that you need to since it's not hard to forget. In some of the previouls ones, you had a wide range of things to do on one case, you'd use more than a handful of tools, you could go on PCs in earlier games, in this one, you only get to use a computer once, even then it's for a naff photo. One previous game used the mobile lab, this one didn't, although it was a pointless thing to have in that game, it added verity. So much has been removed, the age rating is pretty stupid, if you replace the cases for theft of sweets, you could just give it to a 3 year old, they'd have no problems solving the puzzles or cases here, no challenge, none, zero. Like with many games now, they have decided to introduce some arbatrery awards that you get at the end of a case, now before they did do this, in once, you'd get a quiz at the end for observation, which was fun, but they ditched that in this one. Before when they did it, you got rewards like concept art or things like that as a reward for getting something, in this you get nothing, though judging from the graphics, the concept art was probably drawn by a team of 4 year olds. ![]() Story: Of the 5 cases, none of them where that great, I think I liked one of them in terms of depth, in past games, you'd get cases linking as you progress, in this one, only the person in the last case is mentioned ealier on in the game, nothing else relates, it doesn't come together. There was nothing intresting about the cases, it was all so simple, not something you'd expect to be the story of CSI, it seems more like something you'd find as a plot to some low budget detective show. All the other games had something memorable about them in the story, one of them had a murder in an asylam, it was quite a deep story, spooky even, the first one had a few good cases, there was one with a case at a game convention. This one though, the best there was here was a murder in a fighting arena. Not to mention that everything in this game was murder, the others I remember had one case without a murder, one was creative to have a fake murder, the first had an abduction and one had sabatage but this had nothing unique, it might as well have just been one huge case. Graphics: Awful, I think they might have tried to make them better or maybe not, they where bad, the ealier ones, heck even the first had better graphics than this, it was almost like they where trying to make it look like a rubbish game. Some of the things they used as background objects where real photos, not drawn but real, very out of place in a game. Lips moved very badly and facial expresions ranged from consterpated to about to have a stroke, hidious graphics. ![]() Options: Pretty standard, sound, resolution, save/load and so forth, although there is no windowed mode option listed, it can be windowed by pressing Alt + Enter, though when you do that, be sure to change the games resolution to 1 x 1, that's what it's best viewed in, if viewed at all. Overall: Rubbish, don't buy, waste of money, save it, buy something else, like tetris, no seriously, tetris is a much better game than this. Score: 2/10 (One of the worst CSI games, if CSI: NY wasn't released, this would be the worst) Price (RRP): £19.99 |

I actually played this except it was a demo for 360, I didn't think it was too bad it was actually entertaining. I only played the demo though so the actual game is probably just repetitive and boring. I wouldn't recommend getting this either unless your into csi and stuff. |

I'm into CSI lol, the previous CSI games (excluding New York and not sure about Miami, didn't play that one) where good, but this one was bad in comparison. It treats the player like an idiot, it does most of it for you, unlike in previous ones. |
