Well it's *****ed up. I guess if some of you haven't been watching the news, you may not know about a 12 man body count in Fort Hood Texas due to some psychotic moron.

Who the hell is this guy, and what was he doing? He's a psychiatrist for god's sake. If you guys hear anything else on the issue, let me know.

I've never heard of this news at all nor do I know who this guy is. It's kind of a scary thought of a psychiatrist being a psychotic moron and killing people creating a massacre, but I'm probably not even close to what the real story is lol.

Apparently, the guy was going to be sent to war in Afghanistan at 39 years of age. He (really) didn't like the idea of it, and so he rebelled in a crazy fit of rage. He opened fire on his fellow troops, all of which were unarmed. The only recorded information on the firearms he was using, was confirmation that he wielded "two handguns." He reloaded his firearms multiple times.

13 are dead as of yet, and 30 wounded, some of which are in critical condition.

The man's actually still breathing. He has four bullets in him, but the report of his death has been denied. Hopefully he lives to face justice.

Yea I was driving home when it came across the radio. I thought about making a topic on here about it yesterday but decided not to. I think that just goes to show what can happen In war time situations. Alot people who go to war never come back the same.

The Fort Hood shooting was a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Fort Hood, a United States Army base in Killeen, Texas. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist stationed at Fort Hood, is alleged to have entered the Soldier Readiness Center and opened fire at 1:34 p.m. (local time), killing 13 people and wounding 30 others.

Hasan was then shot four times by a civilian police officer and was seriously injured. Following the shooting, Hasan was hospitalized on a ventilator,[2] under heavy guard. Authorities have not yet announced what they believe motivated the shooting.

Hasan had come to the attention of federal authorities at least six months before the attacks because of Internet postings he may have made discussing suicide bombings[3] and other threats.

That's where I found the info.

This is just sad. One of the saddest things I can remember happening to the nation. The army is serving to protect the country, and a complete dumbass does this. It's a shame they had to die in arms, after giving up so much and not even serving for the country.

I've read about this and it's been discussed all today at work and just around the area. This reminded me of the massacre of VTech and the thing that interested me that this guy Major Nidal Malik Hasan was also an undergraduate from their. I'm not sure why that's such a big coincidence but it got my attention. What are they doing in that school.

He tried for an internship for his PH.D here in Bethesda, MD and got denied. He didn't like the idea of war and didn't like what was going on in Afghanistan or Iraq or any of that and the problem occurred obviously when he was assigned to be transferred there. He didn't like the idea and just wouldn't go. He killed his own in the Army and it just sounded ridiculous but true. The part that bothers me the most is the fact that he was a Muslim and some columnists are related his faith to being the reason why he did what he did. That's not true at all and it honestly can't be proved one way or another. He didn't shoot those people because he was a muslim and he hated America. I mean the guy at one point set out to protect the country, but the fact is that once he was supposed to be transferred then the problem came up that he didn't like the IDEA. He did not want to be involved one bit in the war. I think first off his mistake was that he joined the damn Army and expected to not have t go to war. I'm not saying that everyone goes to the army because some don't but I personally think he used to army to try to get an education. This guy was never sent to a war to do anything, and it's just a stupid situation. I see Major Nidal Malik Hasan as a person that was just trying to get what he wanted and his stupidity drove him to his dead and his actions affected everyone. This ***** is just sad to see and it pisses me off more than anything.

Today after reading this news I also heard some breaking news on the radio that in Orlando, FL
A gunmen opened fire in a Office Building. 2 people died and 6 injured. This doesn't compare to Fort Hood or Virginia Tech but the fact that this ***** is happening so often now it's really *****ED UP. I can't think of a better term at the moment but it's just distressing to see in a time where their are already so many problems to deal with.

That you did. Excuse my poor reading comprehension.

In relevant news, this screwball had two unissued firearms with him the whole time. Everyone else was unarmed, and that's how he managed to pick the civilians off as he saw fit. The guy's on life support at the moment I believe.

What makes this story really intriguing is that the shooter was actually working for the US army as a psychiatrist.
I read somewhere, I think NY Times, that some of his fellow soldiers told the press the shooter was deeply against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that he wanted Obama to retire the american troops from those countries.

I thought the fact that he was a psychiatrist was pretty crazy too. Psychiatrists are supposed to be the ones that know the most about self-containment, or so I thought.
