I'm pretty curious as what everyone's first experience with a Dragonball game was. Mine was a Super Nintendo one called, Dragonball Z: Chou Saiya Densetsu, which roughly translates to Super Saiyan Legend. It was a card based RPG that started at the Saiyan saga and ended at the Frieza saga. It had random battles and level ups and all that other junk and compared to other stuff at the time that I was playing it really wasn't much. But for some reason I just really enjoyed it. ![]() My second was Dragonball GT Final Bout (the original 1997 release). As a kid I absolutely loved it, now the only reason I'd play it is to hear the extremely cheesy voice overs. I die a little inside every time I hear Vegeta's voice. XD So... what was your first Dragonball game?

Ultimate Battle 22, my brother bought an imported copy of it years ago. The animations at the beginning of each battle were awful, but I had never heard their Japanese voices before so I loved it. I still like the opening and the music too. My second was either the first Budokai or Legendary Super Warriors (GBC).
Have you heard his voice in the Blue Water/Ocean dub? Edited by x_bura_x, Oct 19 2009, 10:33 PM.

There was a game that was a weird, card-battle ish game. It wasn't a card game; it showed animations of the fights. I forget he name though, so the first game I remember is Budokai. |

I hated that they didn't voice the skits before battles in the US version of Ultimate Battle 22. >_> Legendary Super Warriors was an excellent game, one of the only GBC soundtracks I thoroughly enjoyed besides the Castlevania GB games.
You mean Brian Drummond? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fghlFsHgKmY I thought he was pretty good actually, he did an all around decent job at bringing out Vegeta's character. Of course Sabat will always be my favorite! :3 The Blue Water group actually did a really good job, however there were a few characters that made me really cringe every time I heard them speak.... namely Cell and Android 16. Have a look see.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBAj2CGuHAg Android 16 sounds like a stereotypical "strong man." I couldn't seem to get used to it like I did for Funi's 16 (which I also disliked at first). Edited by SlyStrife, Oct 19 2009, 10:56 PM.

My first Dragon Ball game was none other than that pinnacle of American localization, Dragon Power. You know, the NES game where Goku's head was shaved, Kame-Sen'nin was wearing a bathrobe, Yamcha was called Lancer, etc.. We had Dragon Power before Dragon Ball became popular in the U.S., so it took me a little while to figure out that the girl screaming at me to rescue her in Dragon Power was probably the same girl screaming at Goku to rescue her in Dragon Ball. About the only character that came out unscathed were Boss Rabbit and Pu'ar (who for some reason is always throwing bombs at me in every game he has a role in). My experience with Akira Toriyama works over the years has kind of been slap-dash. I played Dragon Power as a kid, watched the Dragon Warrior anime during that brief time it played in the U.S., watched the Ocean dubs of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, played Chrono Trigger, continued watching the FUNimation dubs of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, which eventually introduced me to Dr. Slump. It's given me an appreciation for Toriyama's works as a whole, so I like to include tidbits from all these franchises when I do my fanfics. It's also probably why I didn't care much for Chrono Cross. I did not get a hold of a DB game until Budokai 1. It was one of the worst DBZ games ever made. For obvious reasons. |

Being new to DBZ, the first game I played was Buu's fury on Gameboy Advance. The first one I owned ( and still own ) is Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Which is still my fav. |
