What Browser do you use? Firefox Favourite Manga I dunno, really	Actually, the title was to catch your attention. But it is about Tien/Tenshinhan's third eye. What is it? Why is it there? I've heard two "official" theories, as the manga and anime itself to my knowledge say anything about its original. 1. It means Tien has been enlightened. But I don't fully understand that whole "enlightened" thing, since he was kinda evil when he first met him. 2. He's an alien, a member of the Three-Eyed race. I think this theory is just ignorant, but that's just me. What are your thoughts about this subject?

I personally think he's a human that been enlightened but because of his evil master of the crane he was unable to use the enlightenment properly but he can still use it somewhat in battle. Although we all agreed in that topic that x_bura_x had the most accurate post, it's true. Quote: Toriyama's version of "earth" is very different. He incorporated a lot of fantasy elements into his story. He explains Tenshinhan's third eye in an interview: "In certain parts of Asia, beings with a third eye on their forehead are thought to be god-like and are said to posses the power of true seeing. It seems that Tenshinhan, who was raised by the evil Tsuru-Sen'nin, lost the ability to use the myriad powers of his third eye for good purposes."

Detective Conan Shin Chan Favourite Manga Anything by Akira Toriyama	Incidentally, there was a filler episode in the Saiyan saga that showed a geisha-like woman with three eyes in the afterlife. An ancestor perhaps?

I prefer enlightenment though.

He supposedly lost this enlightenment, though, being evil at the beginning of Dragonball and stuff. The alien-thing... well, daizenshuu stated it, but Tenshinhan is still regarded as human in every game - so I think the alien-theory doesn't really work. Besides, we have enough aliens in the series already, don't we? ^^
