Posts: 39 Group: Member Member #4,484 Joined: September 23, 2009	In the commencement of the Androids Saga, Goku and Trunks were indeed more or less parallel in strength as Super Saiyans. So how is it that Trunks was able to overthrow Freiza so effortlessly and swiftly, while Goku was nearly comparable in strength to Freiza? Freiza was supposed to be even stronger in his mechanical form than his purely organic form, making the fact that Trunks was so much stronger all the more illogical.

Frieza was only a match for Super Saiyan Goku in the animé, in the manga Frieza was a lot worse off. The animé creators decided to portray Frieza as stronger then in the manga, but when it came to Frieza Vs Trunks they had to follow the story. Also, we've discussed this on this board quite a bit, and some of us think that perhaps Frieza wasn't powered up to his maximum when Trunks killed him. Hope that helps.

Still, I doubt he progressed very substantially on planet Yardrat, he was more preoccupied with mastering techniques such as the instant transmission. It is reasonable to suppose that Freiza didn't get the opportunity to power up before Trunks abruptly severed him to scores of fragments. But only Akira knows

We're only told that he mastered the Instant Transmission so we know that's what he did, but not necessarilly all he did. Plus Yardrat wasn't necessarilly the only place Goku visited. Also I'm not sure Mecha Frieza was stronger than 100% Final Form Frieza. I mean he took one hell of a beating from Goku (going by the manga where, like Psyam said, Goku completely overpowered him) and was cut in half and had his tail cut off. I don't think that he would be able to return to the power he was before the fight. Plus if I recall correctly Trunks states that Goku is a little more powerful than him.
