Rewatching the Dragon Ball series I noticed Gokus venture into the Demon realm, and noticed the powerful ruler Shula. Well, Is this Realm the same place that Dabura is the ruler of in later years in the Buu saga? Was Shula overthrown? Well any information would be appreciated, thanks. |

it's very possible. it's a good thing you posted this, cause I didn't remember it. is it in the manga? if not I'll have to watch the whole anime series again somehow to see everything I don't remember so I can make sure I don't miss it in DBMU. I don't believe anything has ever been revealed about it, so it is probably up to interpretation, and I'd say Dabura probably overthrew him. Edited by Temphis, Sep 4 2009, 05:29 PM.

Hey thanks for posting. Well, I'm not sure about the manga, I've only read the first few installments. But Shula is the king of the Demon World when Goku first visits the place in episode 81 "Goku Goes to Demon Land." Let me know what you think. Peace. |

hmm.. there could be a LOT of different dimensions/worlds out there in the DBZ universe, it seems absolutely anything is possible. i heard dabura was from the demon PLAIN(sp?), while appararently Shula is from demon WORLD. i dont know if it makes a difference. it COULD, but who knows. i havent even heard of shula. was he killed? To me this seems very logical that Shula would be overthrown by a higher power from the Demon world. I think the Demon Plain and the Demon world are the same thing in contrast. Maybe Dabura was deeper in the Demon World and eventually grew stronger and took over as the Demon's new leader. That is just my guess. I maybe totally wrong. Being a big DB + DBZ fan; I also too questioned this theory. |

Heh. No one's happiness is at stake, its just fun to ponder. I agree, Super Goku, they could be all sorts of different planes, realms, worlds, dimensions etc. I kind of lean towards that Dabura was growing, and got more powerful and over threw Shula. I bet its something that AT never even acknowledged, probably diddn't expect people to question it that much. Oh well its fun to. And to answer your question Super goku, Shula wasn't killed at the end of the episode, Goku barely escaped, and he only won his fight with Shula luckily, and due to interference or a trick or something. The one interesting thing I notice is that Dabura actually looks like a 'devil' or 'demon' meanwhile Shula looks just like a regular humanoid demon. |

Why does there have to be only one demon king? Is it not possible that there are multiple demon kings who control certain parts of the demon world. The demon kings mentioned so far are Dabura, Shula, and King Piccolo. I believe that there is a possibilty that there could've been multiple demon kings. |

Interesting pieces of info. Thanks fellas. I'd like to know who the others would be. Like the 4 kais of heaven, and the corresponding relateable ones from the demon world. shula is probably the ruler of earths demon world (kami) while dabura is the ruler of all demons in the universe(supreme kai) |

Shula was a filler character, However..., Dabura might´ve killed Shula, Also as far as i know there is only one demon world in DBZ. |

shula was only called a king of demons and might only be king in that one cave system. dabura was explicitly stated to be the ruler of all demonkind, so hes like a high king over the individual petty kings like shula |

Piccolo Daimao, Shula, Dabura all called themselves Demon King, Even though since Dabura is stronger, Dabura is the truly Demon King. |
