It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Well I've been living on my own for a month now and despite enjoying my diet of microwave meals, pizzas and sandwhichs it can't be good for me. What I wanted was any advice people have on basics the body needs? I really have no idea, which shows how inept I am and how much my Mum did for me :P I do eat fruit though which is a good thing lol Anyway, any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

p.s. I should add that I suck at cooking.

You don't want to listen to me then. I'm far from a nutritional expert, however I'll tell you one thing to avoid.
Ice Cream and large amounts of sweets or sugar. Aka Sodas.
I literally blame my not getting fat on never drinking soda or eating things with sugar in them. It also helps the ole insulin out.
Over drinking is bad.
Taking multivitamins is good.
Try oatmeal for breakfast instead of sugar cereal. Unless you love total or something like it. I just don't drink milk because it gives me gut busting gas.

Most of that is no nonsense practical ideas to keeping healthy. Most people gain weight when they hit Uni, and for good reason.

Sorry I didn't see this Kotetsu, my activity on the forum's been sporadic and I completely forgot about this topic.

Thanks for replying, I'm starting to get the idea. I try to eat a lot of fruit, cutting down on my sugar intake (although that is hard because I have a staggering amount). I need to get more variety in themeals I eat, although that'll come with time and experience in the kitchen I guess, or rather I hope.
