Rampaging Explosion of Euphoric Glory!

my advice is don't push yourself too hard and don't get a personal trainer until you can't progress anymore on your own. I just got hospitalized because I had a free personal trainer give me a test run and she pushed me to the point I collapsed and it's taken me two weeks to recoperate. I now have anxioty about my health, even though the doctors said I checked out okay with my heart and all, so it's been a freakin nightmare just because I was guliable, my trainer was an attractive idiot, and I didn't have enough experience to know I was really hurting myself by letting her push me that hard.

also, if you go to a gym, they really just care about your money, and you will probably get giped unless you can find all of their special offers and deals and shove them in their faces. I go to Golds Gym, and I really am not impressed with them, but most of all, I'm not impressed with their paramedic's skills. my life was kinda on the line, and after I could think straight, which was like a day later, I realized just how much worse they made the situation, if I hadn't asked for paramedics, I could have been in much much worse shape, cause they weren't gonna call em until after they asked me if I wanted them to come ten minutes after I passed out the second time....those bakas.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

I'm surprised I didn't trip over this topic sooner. Huh.

Well, I've lost 90 lbs. I suppose you want to GAIN weight though.

Really, saying ANYTHING would be redundant, as I guess health knowledge is more widespread than I had once thought! At least, on these forums. :o_O:

I say avoid red meats. They're not the best for you.

Like meat? Try Grilled Skinless Chicken Breasts. 110 calories a breast, nice light [delicious] snack that packs in a lot of protein.

Cobb salads are fun. If you go to a restaurant, order one.

Whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains, whole grains.

I'm surprised that hasn't been mentioned yet [maybe, but, I didn't see any mention of it and I skimmed by the topic decently]. Whole grains are super healthy. Fiber as well. But, they tie in hand to hand. I make sure to get a BARE MINIMUM of 20 grams of fiber per day. 99% of the time I get 25-45 grams. The average American gets 9.

If you have white bread, throw it away or give it to somebody. It's horrible for you. It has no nutritional content, it's really just carbs and sugar [usually high fructose corn syrup.] Buy 100% WHOLE WHEAT bread. It has to say that on the package for it to be acceptable. Not just wheat.

Whole grains are super.

Breakfast is a MUST. Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, Dinner like a Pauper. That's what I say. With plenty of snacks in between, like nomnom said, to keep your metabolism pumping.

I once pitched all this out to a guy named Erik at my school, and he stops me as I'm explaining all these health tips and asks "Yeah, but, I just wanna gain some muscle." I told him flat out, "If your body ISN'T clogged with cholesterol, saturated fats, and toxins, you're probably gonna work better, right? Not just in daily life, but, in the Gym too."

Blueberries are ****ing great. I have to say that. Healthiest food in the world. I'm serious. I can't name ANYTHING healthier. Not even that Acai bullcrap or any vegetable. True, vegetables are VERY healthy, but, nothing can stand in the way of the blueberry. Its huge abundance of polyphenols, antioxidants and nutrients destroy free radicals [slow aging] and are very anti-cancer. I take a small handful and put them in my cereal every morning if I have some.

I like whey protein mixed with skim milk after an exercise for recovery.

You don't need a Gym, but, one helps.

Message me if you wanna talk! :)

Thanks for all the help, I havent started my work out yet but I had already forgotten that back at home I have a bench press, so Ill def be using that once I get back home, which hopefully will be soon. Yeah I was thinking of buying whey protein I saw it the other day. Ive had protein shake before it was mixed with milk it was really good so nothing to worry about there. I can't ever stop eating meat, I love steaks it's like my favorite food lol.

Steak is red meat, so try to lighten the frequency of which you eat it. Eat plenty of meats though, and don't worry that much about calorie count as long as you're -active-. If you are, you'll be fine.

Now, as for lifting, try to do hang cleans and squats. When you're finished, you should try to jog it off.

You have to worry about calorie count, my friend. You even implied that you're not going to focus very much on hitting the gym therefore calorie count is that much more important. Regardless, counting intaking large quantities of calories per day is just as important as the gym, and don't forget about resting either. Resting is my biggest problem. I can make a list of my meals, and I train regulalrly, but I'm on NO SLEEP. Not my fault though.

Calorie count is important because if you notice that you're not gaining, you simply have to add more calories to your list... I would recomend protein bars and whey mix, but you must train hard for that. At least buy a few dumbells and a small bench. It's not that expensive, 50$?

Calorie count is just organization, that's it. Organization is the key to succes.

^ That's right. Jogging takes care of calories. It's really not that big of a deal if you move your ***** and keep busy. The guy above you weighs about 130 lbs. His routine may not be the best for you. That's a tiny size, and I'm assuming you want to be a little bigger for the competitive sport of baseball.

Wait... wait... explain this to me somebody. This guy implies that I'm an anorexic sucker and gets away with it. But when I stated a fact, my post gets erased. What did I tell you last time Brian? Do never insult me again. Now go remove another 95 pound mole from your girlfriend's @ss. And I just gave you some more fitness advice.

Don't forget that to gain weight you need to intake more calories than you put out working out. So, you need high calorie foods with lots of vitamins to make up for what you're burning off. Lots of protein... lean meats are good. Turkey and chicken breast.

And make sure you're not neglecting your fats too. Eat a couple table spoons of peanut butter a day or a handful of almonds. It doesn't sound like you need to be doing cardio for anything but endurance, and the more you run the more you need to eat.

Lift heavy and get lots of nutritious food in you and watch the results come. =] Train your large muscle groups the most, doing things like squats, dead lifts, and rowing motions. Save curls and stuff for once or twice a week at the most, the larger ones will benefit you the most. Good luck!

Thanks fem saiyan, thats good advice.

I'm not going to point fingers or accuse one person in specific. But you will know what I mean when I say cut it out. Otherwise I'll hand warns.-+ whatever grudges you have against one another take it elsewhere, and I dont mean another topic either, elsewhere out of the forum.

Huh? I could have swore you said that you weighed 130 once... I don't know what the heck makes you think I insulted you though.

Already, let's get back on topic, and on future note just because someone says you are 130 pounds does not mean they are applying you are anorexic, I weigh 115 and I am far from anorexia I love eating. Now let's get back on topic please.

Mc Esse I just noticed you bypassed word filter with a three letter word, take this as a verbal warning. You are not allowed to bypass the word filter its one of the rules. Now any one have any problems use PM or Pm me, just please don't do it on any topic anymore.

You're not anorexic, but for a competitive sport like baseball you may want to gain a little weight. I believe only then can you truly start to get stronger and basically just get right for the sport. Are you a pretty agile guy? Pretty fast?
