This isn't sports really, so I hope its ok here. Here's the deal, I'll make it plain and simple. This is a question towards people who train, but also do exercise such as stretching, cardio, etc. What do you do exactly? Do you have a schedule? Do you do it freely? and so on --- Here's my side of it Honestly, I'm getting fed up of my training a little. In my case, I don't go to the gym, simply cause i choose not to, I don't need those big machines, last year at my school I trained almost every weekday with machines so enough of those (about 1 hour per day) and I don't wanna to pay if I could do it on my own Basically, now, well actually the past year, I've been only focusing on biceps and triceps, and a bit of abs doing this Linnnnk but with my feet on a chair and this Link numba 2! with a 30lbs And for the abs, I usually do push-up after I'm done with those two exercises repeated over and over Now here's the thing...IM FED UP! haha I'm tired of doing this because first of all, its always the same, second of all, I don't even have a schedule so I feel like I'm a little too free which I don't if its good, and usually I do this training at 11:00 at night on school days or past 1 am during the summer, and well I wanna stay in shape but I feel like its getting more and more boring. And if you guys say, train other parts of your body, I wanna know what you're thinking really, what exercise should I do Because I went to a school with a hole load of gym, where we ran every week and did all kinds of sports, so I think that helped out my legs a lot, i've done running with weights, but now its just boring, not to mention the fact that people look at you with a weird face when you wear them, but at least they admire you lmao So what I want to know is exactly how you guys train |

This is what I do currently at home with weights and jogging outside Monday- Jog 20 minutes and lift weights for chest and shoulders. HustLa recently got me into lifting weights so he's been helping me out with that. Tuesday- Martial Arts workout, which includes Cardio, all ab workouts like sit ups, and all different arm workouts like push ups. Wens-Jog 20 minutes and do martial arts workout Thursday-Jog 20 minutes and lift weights Friday-Martial Arts Workout Saturday-Jog 20 minutes and martial arts workout Sunday-Off day I usually workout at 5 to 6 pm because they say it's the best time to workout. It's when your adrenaline pumps the highest. You should try martial arts. It's a good workout and it will keep you interested. I know you don't want to pay, which is why I do most of my workouts at home, but I'm positive that you will find martial arts very fascinating. Edited by Pookie, Aug 12 2009, 10:57 PM.

I have very undisciplined workout sessions. Nothing is ever planned or scheduled. I go as my body responds. There are days when I will jog for a couple hours, then there are days when I will go from 12:00 in the afternoon all day lifting weights and sprinting to 9:00 PM. |

I do about 1 hour a day for 3-4 days of cardio (usually group exercise classes such as cycle, step aerobics, and kickboxing). I'm also getting back into weight lifting again and I'm aiming for 2-3 days a week. I've also been going with friends 1 hour a night to walk/run with them for about 2-3 miles, 4 days out of the week. |

Give some detail on what you want to achieve from training, it will help decide what things you could do. I work out 4 times a week. It would be nice if I could go and do things in a scheduled manner, but working part-time my hours are mixed up a lot during the week so sometimes I go in the morning, evening, Mondays, skip Monday etc. One thing I do keep in line though is the order of muscles I work. First day of the week I do shoulders and triceps. Second I do chest and bicep. Third I do legs. Fourth day is a mix of what I feel can be worked on depending on how my body feels. The reason you might be hating your current routine is that it might be boring you. There's not too much variety in what muscles to work, but there's always variety to how you can train them. Also try to be more specific about what you want from your training. Muscle gain, fat loss, endurance etc. It will make it a lot easier for you to come up with a schedule that way. |

That looks well planned ![]() I need to sit down and do the same thing, and actually I've done martial arts in the past but I lost interest, but it was a few years ago, so I never know for now ![]()
That's a lot of workout but i guess its kinda like me, not a certain time, as long as i feel comfortable ![]()
I'm kinda jealous, if only i can get my friends to do that with me, but most of them just don't care for training or act like they know everything and wanna do it their own way =/
That's pretty interesting man, the 4 different days. You guys are giving me ideas well basically, its muscle gain, I'm fine with weight, and I think I'm good enough for cardio, seeing as I did hundreds of them exercises Thanks for the replies everyone, I guess if you want something more direct, I'll say, I want to build myself up a little, I've done pretty much every part of the body, but if I keep doing it, I need something new. I guess...the first thing to do is make a good schedule around my busy time

I go to the Gym every day, except for Wednesdays and Sundays. I like five days a week. Gives me a break so it doesn't get boring. Plus, I like to have two days because if I am really, really busy for some reason any of the days I'm supposed to work out and don't have time for the Gym, I can easily NOT go the day that I am supposed to go, and instead, go on one of my days off to make up for it. I have two of these days, so, it works out. I run to the Gym from my house, which is roughly about half a mile, then run back for cardio. I don't run on the treadmill at the Gym I go to [Snap Fitness]. I run on a treadmill @ The Holiday Inn though whenever I'm there, which is 2-3x a week. So, some days of the week, I go to two Gyms in the same day, yay! I don't have a determined schedule. I go Mon/Tues, Thurs-Sat, that's it. I decide what I want to do when I get there, judging on what is sore, what I did the day before, and what I feel like doing, importance of judgment is in that order. I do the incline press, push ups, crunches, curls, tricep extension, low row, lat pull down, all the leg exercises, basically, if it's a machine, I do it. The only thing I HAVEN'T touched since I've been in the Gym is the military bench/bench press/squats. I probably should, but, I don't really know how to work it since it's kind of not your average run-of-the-mill equipment. I tried to use it once and the bar dropped down and hit me in the forehead. Ouch. Thankfully, there wasn't any weight on it. Edit: Actually, I went to the Gym last night, without noticing it was Sunday! Weird. Well, it's fine, since I missed a day I shouldn't have missed when I was at my dads' house, so, I made up for it. Edited by Sam, Aug 31 2009, 09:21 AM.

During the summer i use to go and ride my bike at 10am on a bike trail that is about 1.2 miles long(5 laps). I would have the gears on my bike set high enough that even going on a flat surface i would feel resistance. Then when i got home i would do 20 push ups going down very low( sometimes i do it slowly some times fast) Then sit ups. I don't have a set number for that i just do it until i get bored...which is very quickly Then i go to take a shower and when i'm in the shower i work my calf muscles by lifting my self onto my toes and going back down(done kinda quickly) During the summer i did it every day but now with school i usually do it tuesday, thursday, and friday |
